It's fine, not all beneficiaries get an A number assigned at USCIS. You'll get yours assigned after an approved interview and it'll appear on your visa (and then on your green card after you do POE).

Whoot, whoot :dancing: Got our CC email today. 43 days. God is good.

Oh, I'd also like to add:

We had submitted all our documents, filled out DS-260 and paid up the fees and received NVC email of receipt by December 30, 2014. I wanted to get scan dates for the AoS and IV documents so I had tried calling (and emailed) but to no avail. Not sure if anyone else from Jamaica experienced it, but whenever I tried calling the NVC #, I kept getting a recording (from Verizon) that the number was incorrect...yet when my husband calls, the call goes through but always busy (with the generic voice message).

I also never got back any response to my emails, so we just left it in God's hands and kept on believing for an early CC. Thank God we completed the process with no checklist...and had it not been for this community, we couldn't have done it by ourselves.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in this community. I have learnt a whole lot about the process - even before we filled out our _I-130 application - all the assistance we needed, came from this reading the Guides and experiences from other members. With VJ, we definitely can DIY.

Thanks my VJ family. Now we proceed to the final stop on this journey - the Interview.

Blessings.

just a quick question....

in 2011, I completed the ds160 for a K1 visa, I have the print out. canceled that visa in 2012.

now I'm getting ready to complete the ds260...and want to have everything ready for an easy, peasy process.

these forms look almost identical imo, are they? (I am hoping so....so I won't have to go crazy getting more info ready.)

After 125 days NVC reviewed my IV package and listed me another checklist. they want me to send the police certificate . no way.i cant wait another 60days.

is it possible that i can speak to supervisor and request to check my checklist as soon as possible?. becaz already they took 125days fo my IV package and 89days for my AOS.

sorry to hear you got another checklist. You already submitted police certificate for previous checklist right? Please talk with supervisor. Wish you good luck and CC very soon.

So, I've heard that the DOS trick no longer works and that instead it now forwards you to the non-immigrant section, instead of the main menu at NVC. Can others confirm this? Cause if it's true, I'll have to take down that trick in the wiki :(

Once we got my visa approved....can I just enter the country and leave a few days later? I have to do this because we got a dog and the airline won't fly him in the summer, on top of that I got 2 little ones...so avoiding traveling with screaming kids and whinny dog just so we can have a smooth moving.

After you get your visa approved and you enter US on your immigrant visa (CR-1 or IR-1 visa - valid for 6 months), an officer at any US port will stamp I-551 annotation on your passport. Your I-551 annotation in your passport is a proof of Permanent Resident status for one year, pending receipt of your Green Card. It will allow you to reenter the U.S. after traveling abroad.

No previous checklist was for AOS. i got checklist for police certificate.which i already sent to them.and on top of that ,they did not review my IV package in 60days time frame.after 125 days they checklisted me for Police certificate which according to them is missing in package.which is not true.im sure they lost it.

Don't let them win, stay strong! Our lawyer told us it would take 3 months, it will be a year in March. We no longer are using a lawyer.

i agree, stay strong and positive! I finally got my interview and approval after almost a year and a half with 3 check lists along the way.

43 days?! wow, congratulations!

Thanks. We prayed for 30 days, but happy for 43. Nothing is impossible with God. While we are praying, He was doing his thing in NVC.

I pray that all the cases will be reviewed and closed in reasonable time, and that no Checklist will be issued. It's crazy to having to wait for review, only to get a checklist and then have to wait another 60 days. We are happy we didn't get any, but I truly empathize with those who do. Hang in there guys, the end is near. :)

Electronic Processing (EP) is only available to a few specific countries, Tanzania not being one of them. Your only option is to snail mail packages in.

I'm not sure 100% if you'd get a checklist, but in this case, since a checklist costs 60 days, it'd be better to fix it now.

If you trust your joint sponsor, you can always send them your documents, they can then add their documents, then they send everything to NVC from Florida. Might save some time ;)

Better be safe etc...

Yeah that could be an idea, I feel like we have imposed so much already though! Sure we'll see.

Well I guess I can officially post in this thread and join in the fun, as the DS-261 became available and I filled it out last night, didnt give me the option to chose who the agent was, just if we had a lawyer and fill in the beneficiary (me) details.

Roll on for the fees to be unlocked... never been so excited to part with my money :) hopefully it will be 3-5 days as the NVC say!

Hey, thanks again for your help, muchly appreciated! :)
