I'd assume if this went down in today's climate, and she would have shot him, people would be running around with their hands up and laying down in the middle of highways to protest. There would be arguments here about if he was pulled over because he was black. Basically anything to deflect from the fact that the guy beat a cop almost to death.

I don't think that officer was really in danger, a few more blows would have been needed for deadly force to be justified. I want to see the pics of the bruises before I draw any conclusions. That's the chance you take when you sign up for the job.

it's about using certain words to vent emotions/opinions that would otherwise look pretty hateful without a half-assed cover.

I'm glad that you put that part. Seriously.

Sometimes even an unarmed person can totally overwhelm an officer. What happens to the officer then, when he/she is totally helpless? Luckily, this violent person walked away instead of ending her life.

The size, race, or gender of the people involved is unimportant, imo. Cops need to be able to protect themselves. I think it is very important that cops be able to go home alive at the end of their shift.
