Thanks all for the congrats! (L)

You know, I was thinking... Since many from TSC still haven't heard back, yet some have been approved, I'm wondering if you guys might hear something in the next for the 3-4 weeks rather than 3-4 months.. who knows?

I was also looking at timelines similar to mines (processed at TSC and fiance from Italy) and it looks like they also were all approved this month regardless of what month they filed. So it makes me wonder if they go by country at all? Or maybe it's just a coincidence?.....not sure.

I hope you all hear something soon. (F)

Oh, my received date is December 26th, but the date on the paper notice is Dec 29th, hence I am going with that one.

I have no idea which one the official NOA-1 is, but I figured the later one would be more conservative.

Ok thanks. I was thinking the same thing.

It's definitely possible, but I don't know how likely that would be. Probably not very.

If your logic is correct then I would be getting approved right about now. Looks like I'm the only one waiting for my country at TSC (among VJ members) except for one other person who never even entered their NOA1 date. Someone with a NOA1 date of Sep. 10 just got approved and a Sep. 9 just got an RFE, then one other person (Aug. 19) has already entered the country. Man, I wish it was by country because Cameroonians would take no time at all!

Hey All

Figured I would join the December as well as the November groups:

Filed: November 17, 2014

NOA1: December 23, 2014

and still waiting as of right now on any word about my NOA2....

This process is actually killing me

Curious, why did it take so long to get NAO1?

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.
Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

I honestly have no idea... Perhaps it was the timing of when I sent in the forms, or because I sent them while I was still serving with the Peace Corps in Panama and their postal service is absolutely horrible... regardless its a sucky situation and this waiting is the worst.

Gotcha, yeah, so the Panama postal service may have taken a month to get it to the USA. Hang in there, it will happen.

I'm an RPCV too :) We got engaged the week I COS'd, but I waited til I actually got back to the US to send it because the Cameroonian postal service is terrible too and I was afraid it would never make it.

Welcome to the thread and best of luck!

122 days. I really hope they crank out more approvals tonight - this week has been abysmal!

And it's officially May. I think my original worst case estimate August is becooming the defacto realistic option,

When I signed up, my estimated VJ timeline date was earlier than what yours is now :( Now it's mid August.

I had already resigned myself to August so it's not really moving me one way or another but after my Fiance's visit this summer (june-august) he will be out of a job so it would be really nice to go home with an approval notice.

Hopefully I won't get in trouble for this being off-topic, but just curious how you guys plan to get married? Courthouse then ceremony later? Just courthouse? Put together a wedding in 90 days?

I keep going back and forth because we want to get married ASAP to get his work authorization, etc. and we don't have the money for a ceremony yet so we decided to go to the courthouse where I'm going to school and do it the same week he gets here, then have a ceremony back where I'm from when we can save up and really plan it out 1-2 years after that (maybe make that a "renewal of the vows" but tell everyone it's our wedding, lol). But will I tell my friends I'm married and change my last name after the courthouse? Obviously we will take that really seriously and want to act emotionally as if we're married...but I think that will be difficult if I can't introduce him as my husband, we're not wearing rings, my name stays the same, and....most of all...if I get pregnant! At the same time though, I feel like if we do the courthouse and announce it officially and show people pictures, then when we want to do the "real" ceremony it won't be special and people will say "aren't you guys already married though?".

Sorry to ramble, I just need other perspectives on this and none of my friends can help because they can't relate! :energy:

Me and my PanaMan are thinking of doing a flash/pop up wedding. I'm in dc so there are lots of options of interesting places and the best part is it's free!! The only real risk is possible getting fined if you do it on private property but that generally doesn't happen because no one wants to ruin a wedding. My younger brother is going to marry us and we are just going to send out an email/Facebook/Twitter blast to invite everyone a few days or weeks beforehand. Afterwards we will hold the reception at my moms house or at a bar/restaurant.

I just really don't want to stress about anything and my man and I are both very non-traditional so a formal wedding was never going to be for us. There are lots of blogs and news articles about pop up weddings that you can check out for inspiration.

:D Grazie! I'm sure you'll hear something soon. Maybe our fiance's will see each other in Naples , haha  I'm now waiting for the hardcopy of the NOA2 and I already started getting supporting documents for the I-134. I'll be in Italy soon so I will be going over everything with my fiance and helping him prepare for the next steps.. :)
