K1 September 2014 Filers (TSC)

This is a crazy situation. People from CSC get their NOA2 in less than 30 days while we get stuck here at TSC. It really makes no sense. Why some people have the right to their love one in less 6 months while others wait over a year ? Our human rights are being violated too.

I just thinking about withdrawing my petition. In this case, I will travel to her country and get married. After, I will file I 130 to avoid the long wait for the GC and fee burden. I130 is even more cheaper than this k1.

What do you think guys?

I think it is a dumb move and doesn't make sense. Just hold on a little longer. Don't quit near the finish line. You will get your NOA2 soon.

Ok then should I send both mail and email? Or just email?

I would just email. They would just combine your email and physical mail into one profile/record and go to the same person anyway.

Great! Thank you! So basically I'm just creating a generic letter about how long the processing times are. Should I mention my case at all or VJ data?

Have you by any chance heard back from any of them?

Do as you want, but I had no luck sending email. Only the paper letters got through for me. And I sent them to their Washington addresses, nothing. I only received responses when I sent them to their in-state addresses. In my case that was Austin and Round Rock, TEXAS. As for the content, do what you want there. However my suggestion would be to make particular note of the processing time difference between the CSC and TSC. There are tons of "it's taking too long requests" but to present an argument containing the processing time imbalance might get you something other than the typical "you gotta wait your turn" type of response. But YMMV, as may everyone else's. Let us know what happens.

Forgot to answer your question...I heard back from all 3 of my federal reps, though with varying degrees of helpfulness.

The I-130 would take about a year, perhaps a little more, from the time you file, which wouldn't be until after you'd returned from marrying your fiance in their home country. So yeah, if you've been waiting since September along with the rest of us, your best bet would be to just hold out a little longer. Just my $.02.

Sounds like a terrible idea considering you probably only have about another 1-2 week wait if you consider people with 9/8/14 dates are starting to trickle in with NOA2s.

Would you guys say that expecting your fiance(e) to be here by July a long shot? :/ I was expecting my fiance to be here by April/May when I started the process which of course isn't possible. The average just keeps getting longer and longer :'(

Yes, it's a long shot. Some June/July filers have interview dates in May. Check out their threads to see their interview times and tack on a couple of months.

I think it may be within the realm of possible. If you get your answer according to your estimate you should have an interview in June, I would think.

I am hopeful for a June interview too, but it depends. We're not seeing many September approvals right now; it feels more like a trickle, and there are still a good number of August filers still waiting from what I see in the search. That isn't good news for me, I need an interview by June.

But anyway, we'll see.

I'm hoping that you guys get an interview by June as well. I had been hoping for a June as well, but my fiancé thinks it will take longer. At this rate, we are planning that perhaps our wedding will happen in September. It's puzzling to me that they keep working on October cases here and there, but he tells me even his own company does batch work like this in a weird way to try and ''fudge numbers'' and make things ''look like'' they're moving along, when they are not. He's saying if they do operate in this way such a directive wouldn't exactly come from the top, but most likely whoever manages that particular place. For instance, do we know if there are any incentives for employees to get work done speedily? And if not, do we know if the directing manager gets incentives to improve numbers?

At any rate I'm sorry to say with multiple holidays coming up, I expect it will slow again.

Although Easter Sunday is on a Sunday... at least where my fiancé works (govt job), not a lot of people take PTO for an extended period of time over Easter. Hopefully some progress will be made for us Sept fillers next week.

Edit: I realized that some people take time off to go on vacations with their families... lets hope for the best.

I'm hopeful for a July interview at this point. We're planning to get married in September, which would be roughly one year from filing. All we need now is the NOA2 and then for it to go to NVC and then embassy. We have been gathering everything we need for later on - updated affidavit of support based on 2014 tax filing, police reports have been requested, etc. Hopefully an NOA2 by the end of this month. I agree it is disheartening when I see NOA1 dates that were later than my date receiving their NOA2's. I do understand that some people may process their workload assigned faster than others, but it should average out and not continue for large timeframes.
