Never had a problem with the "befores" getting their approvals prior to mine; the "afters" oh hell yeah ... but that's another story.

Yeah, totally. I worded that in an odd way. I guess what I was trying to say is that I feel surrounded by approvals. Full circle around me - and me on the middle just like, stressballin'. Blah.

For some weird reason today has felt tougher than most days.

[ Spring 2005 ] Met online, in-game (WoW)

[ February 2012 ] Finally admitted our true feelings after years of staying hush hush!

[ March 22, 2012 ] Made things official!

[ April 13, 2012 ] Met for the first time in real life and fell in love!

[ July 8, 2014 ] Got engaged!

[ September 10, 2014 ] Filled out paper work

[ September 19, 2014 ] Receipt Date

[ September 23, 2014 ] NOA1

And after 246 hellish days (8+ months) of being trapped in TSC purgatory....

[ May 27, 2015 ] NOA2 :)

[ September 16, 2015 ] Interview at the US Consulate in Montreal!

I share your frustration. It's hard when these approvals are from the same "region" as you, if that would make any difference at all. You come to the conclusion that they HAVE seen your petition, but for whatever reason just thought "Meh, I don't like this one." and tossed it to the side to be reviewed in the near future.

There was one couple who applied well after me and got accepted well before me, and out of curiosity I checked out their story. They met online through a dating service, and one proposed to the other, online, 5 days later. Now don't get me wrong, I judge no person or their story, but I would imagine that that could cause concern for USCIS for legitimacy issues, but nope. hunky-dory.

In all honesty, I can understand why my mother's case would take slightly longer. She lived in the US for some time, has already been married there and such. We had a life there before we returned to our homeland, voluntarily.

It's not much use getting worked up on the motives, for all we know they genuinely skipped or left aside our petitions, or confused the soft touch of the petition for toilet paper. $#!* happens, am I right?

Gotta make light of it, really. Oh and, 231 days. I'm running out of carving space on my walls.

227 today, absolutely certain today won't be any different. In two weeks we'll hit our 8 months waiting, but as TSC say it so nicely "it's a normal waiting time" therefore I won't even get mad. The whole thing has been draining in everyway, emotional, financially, energy all of it, and you can't even get a decent answer when you call them. Decided with SO to quit talking about the process because it brings too much pain and friction between us. I don't know why our case (and others for that matter) are being overlooked, and I'm past the point of caring now anyway. We know our application was correctly filed, we followed the VJ guide to the T, him being in the military makes his record easily accessible by the government, both never had problem with the law, not even a damn parking ticket. Nothing could be delaying our application but a lack of competence, hear I said it. I get that there is a backlog, but why no transfers then? Why not finish all the applications of a certain month before starting another one? I know I'm beating a dead horse, but I needed a big ole vent.. sorry peeps :P

I did my waiting! 9 months of it.. IN TSC!

Congratulations SR_ZJ!!

so they start approving after 10 pm EST?

That's just the approximate time that the system generates the texts and email notifications. And pfrederiksen is correct, it's a relatively new thing. I know it wasn't that way 5-6 years ago.
