Cellphone at AOS interview

Are cellphones allowed at the USCIS office where the AOS (green card) interview takes place? I use my cellphone as my watch/clock. I will turn it off during the interview and while waiting inside the building.

They were NOT allowed at our local office in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Apparently, it depends on the office. We left ours in the car, and we don't even know what would have happened if we hadn't done that. I read on here that they weren't allowed, so I believed this went for all offices. Turns out (as per other posters) that not ALL of them do this.

I think it's not a big deal either way, the security people at the entrance probably have a place to store them for you while you're at your interview (?). If they're not allowed and you try to bring them, that is.

Here in NYC, it's allowed to have your phone with you. You need to turn off your phone and leave it in your purse or bag.

However, I don't think there's a need to carry your phone with you, since you're not allowed to use it. If you need the time, there is a clock on every wall.

Cell phones are allowed at San Jose, CA office as well. We just turned it to Vibration mode while at the interview. There is a security screening soon after entering the hallway wherein we need to put all our belongings including belt, watch, keys, shoes etc.

It looks the regulations on use of cellphones are all over the place, LOL.

They allowed cellphones through the security check. However, once inside the immigration officer's room for the interview, we were told to shut off our phones and not just keep phones on silent.

Dallas / Irving lets you keep them, and keep them on.

This is going to sound a little lazy but I'll ask anyway. I keep thousands of pictures of my wife and I only cellphone- any chance I could use this rather than printing out all the choice ones?

USCIS does not accept electronic evidence (anything on your phone, CDs, cassettes, etc.).

Some office allow to bring celphone, just turned it off during interview.
