Just an update since our waiver was approved on December 21.

I received the approval letters from USCIS on Saturday December 26. Instructions were to wait for instructions from the consulate in Juarez which would be mailed to me.

I checked the CEAC website and it showed that our case had been updated on December 23 which means that Juarez has received notification that our waivers have been approved.

Just waiting on the letter from the consulate in Juarez to find out whether we will have to return to Juarez for another medical or if we can just send the passports. I'm hoping we don't have to go back because it has been less than a year since the visa interview.

I'll keep you all updated when I get the consulate letter since I know that folks are curious about how long it takes once the waiver has been approved.

Here is my update regarding the notice timeline once our 601 and 212 waivers were approved. Again we are dealing with the Consulate in Juarez, MX. I received my letter from the USCIS 4 days after approval and yesterday 12/31, I received the instruction letter from the American Consulate General so that was about 7 business days. The return address on the envelope is in El Paso, TX so the letters don't come from Juarez which is why I received it so fast.

Unfortunately, my fiancée has to return to Juarez on February 1 for another medical exam which means the expense of flying her and her daughter from Tijuana to Juarez and another $190 USD per person for a medical exam. I just finished booking the trip :crying::angry: .

On the positive side, other than the medical, they are only requesting their passports so we will have the visa soon by mid February and can begin preparing for their move to California. :joy:

Our journey is almost over thank God.

Just the way it goes. When we first filed processing times were at 4 months. Right after we sent our waiver packet they increased to 6 months. There were over 12 waiver filings sent in the same day we sent ours so I'm sure they have hundreds to review.

:crying: been reading your updates and it looks like its taking 5-6 months to process the I-601 waiver, My I-601 was accepted on Oct 05, 2015 and routed to NSC. I also submitted a request to expedite but never heard from them about it so I am guessing it was not approved. All I know is what I been told by USCIS call center agent and is that they are processing it, now what does that mean? if form is already in some officer's hands, why does it take 5-6 months for him/her to approve it or deny it? it just doesn't make sense to me.

Anyways I am stressed beyond believe, I have 2 school age US citizen children and school years is about to start and didn't want to signed them up for school here. I guess I better get them in school because this immigration process is going for the long run.
