Even experienced immigration lawyers make mistake on filing forms, we are just mere mortals here. Don't be too hard on yourself my friend, immigration through consular processing is hard as it is without blaming yourself. You will be okay.

Hello! Don't feel bad!

I have tripped up twice already on my own taxes, yikes!! I also started to feel so down because they were dumb mistakes! It probably will end up pushing my wait a couple of months, haha. I am in the process of waiting for my amended return and received an email yesterday from NVC starting the next process for the affidavit of support! (What timing, now to wait on the IRS!)

Good luck on your journey. :)

I called NVC today and I was told I made a mistake on one of the forms and that I should be getting an email soon about it. I feel like such a failure. I checked everything so many times for mistakes. now this will add another 60 days to our process. Im just in tears. Just wanted to vent.

I entered the incorrect income figure from my taxes on this form, had to redo, delayed our process. The worst thing is, I am a CPA. Talk about embarrassing!

Hang in there...it will be over.

Best of luck it is a feeling that is impossible to shake. In our interview both my wife and I could not remember my previous spouce birthday and we were givein an RFI. After researching court documents supplied quickly but to this day feel dumb and I was born into this language.

Don't loose faith you will make it.

Hey!

I know what it feels like! i did that, I forgot to send in a document to NVC after i read it like a million times to send it. It happens, especially when you are rushing. Don't rush, take your time, well not your sweet time :P but you know be calm when looking over things, it will help alot. Don't stress out, it is very frustrating i know. There is nothing you can do though so it is best to try to be calm so hat everything else goes smoothly...from your side at least, cant speak for NVC though.

I felt like pulling my hair out when i forgot and made a stupid mistake, but now i already have an interview scheduled and forgot about that stuff haha

Hope you feel better!

Wow you both had to remember your previous spouse's birthday? That's crazy!

Hi All,

I think I did a mistake on I-864A where there is the Sponsors and House hold members promise I say indicate number I put 13a since the beneficiaries name was on row 13a, I read here that its the number of immigrants they mean. I just sent the packet what should i do? Wait for the REF or print and send another I-864A with the correction?

Their instructions are not at all clear. I and my wife we both were trying to make sense what they meant "indicated number", what number that they have forgotten to mention, that left to the readers dissension. Great NVC!

Thanks

that's the exact mistake I made. Its confusing and there are no samples on this site. When I called they had finally gotten to my case however I made those mistake and didn't send a proof of nonfiling for 2013 for my householder (even though I included a explanation that it was not available till a later date from the IRS site). I got this information from the nvc rep before I got the checklist email. I asked them if I could send these corrections with just the original cover letter from the aos since the email hasn't come and they said yes....and I was about to send it this morning over night shipping..18 bucks but something told me to wait... later today I got the email and it listed something else i didn't include that the nvc reps didn't tell me about or they didn't know about so I would have wasted 18 bucks and delayed the process further. so patience is the key as everyone here is saying. Nothing done in haste ends up well. Call the nvc to see if anything can be done
