Embassy Review : Hubbys coming home! Lol. He had the interview today. He said he was called up and the interviewer looked at everything I sent and was overwhelmed looking for something to question him about...so he told my husband to sit back down while he went through it. When he was called up again..the guy still seemed overwhelmed but he asked my husband how we met...what he knew about my first marriage (hubby knew alot but he just told the guy my divorce date and the guy moved on) he then asked my husband about my life here in states. So my husband described my work hobbies family. He also wanted to kno if I was same religion as my husband. (We are)Then he said he was approved. After thinking about it my husband felt he was already approved before he walked in cause the questions seemed to be just a formality. Didnt seem like the answers really mattered to the interviewer. My husband also said tht when they were collecting paperwork from everyone...tht there were four men tht embassy didnt ask for paperwork from and those four men were later denied. Everyone just thought that was curious. Please frontload for lagos.whoever approved our petition beforehand went by all the evidence. I filed for a previous husband and tht was a big red flag but my evidence of bonafide marriage for current marriage was overwhelming. I sent about 2 inches of chat logs. I visted nigeria 4 times and i sent copies of hotel receipts, restaurant receipts, movie and museum tickets and picture pages..on each page i had 4 pics and a small paragraph describing them. My picture pages and the commentaries on them reflected our relationship timeline. I had pics of my first visit when i visited my friends and met my husband and when i went to get married. I included all that in the original petition then i visited twice after that and i sent the evidence from those two trips along with current phone logs, emails and chat log with the IV packet I sent to the NVC. I had affidavits from the two friends that traveled with me from the U.S. One gave the wedding talk and the other was my maid of honor. Also tons of pics with his congregation and his family. My husband even had more updated phone and chat logs AND another corrected affidavit of support tht NVC requested for us to bring to interview. But the interviewer didnt ask to see any of it. Infact my husband didnt even have to open the binder he took in. Jehovah blessed us for our integrity and our patience. Be honest in everything and everything will be ok.

Embassy Review : It took my husband 5 minutes to go through immigration. They asked for the visa and paperwork and went through it quickly. They didnt ask any questions at all. He got the 3rd degree at the Ghana immigration desk before he left though.

Local US CIS Office Review: San Bernadino CA

Event Description
Review Date : August 11, 2009
Embassy Review : We got to the to San bernardino office at 10:30 am our appointment was a 11 am. You have to pay a toll when you park in the parking lot. But you pay it when you come out. we were there around 3 and half hours so we had to pay 12 in cash when we left.

Anyway, we walked through the metal detectors and then took the elevator up to the second floor(i know, im lazy)we walked into the waiting room area there were quite a few people there. we walked up to the window and gave the receptionist (or whatever you call him) our appointment letter, we were told to have seat. We waited over 2 hrs. Then a nice looking filipino lady interviewer called us in and had us raise our right hand to swear to tell the truth. She has us for pictures, marriage certificate. she ask when and were we got married she asked me who the woman standing next to me in the picture was. She asked us like 3 times when we moved into our apt. She asked for proof of living together, like rental agreement and bankstatments. she asked us to show our atms cards to both our bank accounts and birth certificates. She wanted to see our full cell phone bill but I only had the first pages she asked for our tax return and w2 forms and other things but as I was still pulling them out we were also looking for cell phone bill in our folders and she actually forgot the tax forms. She asked me what my husbands mothers name was. where we spent our honeymoon, how we met who was at wedding. She asked to see our rings. She looked and kept some of our pictures. Then she asked me to step out in lobby and my husband was in there for 15 minutes then he came out and she asked me to come in.

She asked me what brand toothpaste we use and I didnt know. I told her I can tell her what it looks like and how it taste but I didnt notice the name because we usually buy just whats on sale and my husband bought it this time. (I was so dissappointed in myself because I drilled my husband on these types of things months ago She asked where we bought our rings. THen she asked what he had for dinner and I didnt know We had gotten back from a 3 day christian assembly and when it got late I just ate a sandwhich that was left over from our lunch cooler we took and he went to kitchen later and I heard him put someting in microwave but I didnt see what it was. I was sooooo tired from driving to and from long beach which is a 1 1/2 hour drive both ways for all 3 days, my mind was mush so I was not mentally prepared I guess. Anyways she had me draw a diagram of our bedroom. asked if we have a clock.....somehow i thought she meant alarm clock and I told her no we use our cell phones as alarm clocks! She asked again and I said no we dont have a clock!!! But We do have a clock on the wall but my mind was thinking she meant alarm clock! I am even the one who bought that stupid wall clock. Then she called him in and said she is going to have to review everyting further and we should know in 90 days!!! I was floored, I asked her is there a reason we werent aproved and she just said it was common proceedure. I started crying and my husband felt bad and said to me that it was ok that there is no problem she just needs to review it. but I was so upset I told him in front of her that Im just tired of this whole immigration issue and all the waiting and alll the paperwork. She said she had to have a boss sign something and went out and I was just so upset. my husband kept assuring me everything would be ok that we are not trying to scam anyone and they will see that for sure once they review everying. But I was so upset and crying and telling him that I know they will approve us but having to wait another 90 days is not what I wanted.I wanted it to be over, having to assembly stupid packages and gathering proof and waiting. I said that it reflects on me because I am the one who filed all the papers and put it all together since he really depended on me for that and now Im to blame. He kept assuring me it was ok just be patient but I was so upset. We started to argue just a lil about how I could have forgotten that stupid clock and name of toothpaste. But I know it was stupid mistake that is why i was crying mostly because of my stupidity. She then came in with all the paper work and I was still crying and I told her im sorry i thought she meant alarm clock and my husband said "and she was the one who bought it!" but he was trying to joke around to lighten my mood. She then turned to her computer and said "I have approved your application today I just had to be sure and show it to my boss" I dont know if it was test or what changed her mind but I started crying again but with relief.

So our journey is finally over Thank all of you for all your advice and experiences this forum really helped us, hugs to everyone!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
