Nice of them to bring it over.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

They probably genuinely made a mistake, it happens, they brought you the card and apologised. This happens sometimes and if they meant something bad they would have destroyed the card and not told you anything

Don't worry about it it's an honest mistake. I get mail for my neighbours all the time. If I don't pay attention I will open it. Heck I get mail that is for ppl several houses down.

Don't freak out at the guy, they were good enough to bring it over.

A lot of people grab the mail from the box and start opening. I highly doubt he was like "hey, someone else's stuff, let's open it!"

I don t know if they opened it on purpose or just it was a mistake,i met even her husband and said to him why did u open my mail dude.he said man i thought it was mine and i would not mess with ur stuff, everything is cool man don t worry he said, honestly i don t like those people not good people but i don t know what to do.thank u'

I agree that you are lucky they brought it to you. I sent an important document to another member that I helped them obtain but the neighbor got it by mistake and later admitted they simply threw it away.

Be thankful they brought it to you as some people would just throw it out rather than admit they made a mistake. My wife tends to get the mail and starts opening it. She even did that to a UPS package that was for the neighbors. I gave it to them and apologized that we thought it was for us until we saw the address. Yes, the neighbor was not too happy, but it happens. Do not dwell on this. You have your SSC so you are one step farther along than most people in this journey and it sounds like your experience at the SSA office was painless. For that be grateful.

Good luck,

Dave

Yeah, I don't think they sound like the type who will try to steal your identity or anything. Sometimes people just grab their stack of mail and start opening. They would so be caught if your identity was stolen because you could easily say, well, my neighbor opened my mail. I wouldn't worry

Like everyone said, it's simply common for people here who get tens of mails regularly to not bother checking if its really theirs, so don't think too much about it now. Also, I would suggest staying friendly with them, because there will be more important mails for you in the future that might end up again in their mailbox.
