browsing through the past few pages, seems like NVC is processing around may 22 packages?

25 min hold with NVC and they told me my IV package was currently in review ... AHHH. Scanned date was either 5/22 or 5/23 depending on the officer. Going to call back tonight!

I just got done talking with an awful customer support rep after waiting on hold for 30 minutes. She was extremely short with me and rude. Not going to let it ruin our day though.

Please help others not go threw this please, no matter what it's not right, thank you.

That links to employees of the National Visa Center, so these are gripes from the people who are actually processing our packages (this could explain the stupid check lists)!

Arthur and Joy would be employees of Serco, the company contracted to handle the phones (if I'm not mistaken and if I spelled the company name right).

Hi, USCIS just received the I-130 yesterday (June 19, 2014) thru USPS tracking. I was wondering what is the next step and about how long would it take for me to receive a receipt that they actually receive it. Thanks

i believe you are in the wrong thread. You'll get a letter in mail in a week or less saying your case was received at USCIS. Then you have to wait for them to send you another letter saying they transferred your case to NVC.

today i have received an email from NVC stated as beloww

"Dear Sir or Madam:

The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing

of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner

and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment

until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of

the interview. Additional documentation requirements if applicable can be referenced at

From others filing for Pakistan I'm sorry to say that the wait for an interview is longer than Egypt which is from 6 to 8 months you might want to do a search here at VJ. Interview wait Pakistan June 2014. Good luck.

hey guys... still stuck on NVC for like 7 months now... and now for personal reasons i want to quit... how do i do that without making problems for any future process? is there any way can my husband come back and keep the process going?

If you want to end the process, then I'd suggest contacting NVC, they should be able to explain what to do. And if they don't mention it, I'd also contact USCIS and tell them you wish to end the process.

If in the future you want to try again (either with the same person or someone else), then you won't have problems. You may have some extra questions at the interview (about what had happened), but ending the process won't have any negative consequences.

As long as you tell NVC and USCIS about closing your case, your husband shouldn't be able to keep the process going after that. And if you want to go a step further, you can even alert the embassy/consulate about closing the case.

Hi everyone,

Just called NVC. Last time I called I was on hold for about 50 minutes, this time I chose "2" for Spanish and the wait time was only less than 5 minutes. Otherwise I would prefer to receive information in my native language, but my Spanish is pretty good, certainly adequate for this discussion, and it made a BIG difference in the wait time. Just thought others who speak good Spanish might like to know....

Also, I asked about when I might be able to pay the IV bill. I submitted the ds 261 on May 20th, I think perhaps they didn't register it till the 21st. The lady said it's predicted for today or next week. So that's better than the 30 business days, if it's true...
