Hello, is there anyway to avoid getting charged so much every time I call NVC? I'm using skype out of country and spending quite a bit of money waiting on hold for so long. I'm calling from Taiwan for what it's worth.

There is Magic Jack only one charge and you can use it over seas. Not sure how the law is there but they returned mine when I sent it to my husband in Egypt. Or if someone is traveling there that you know they can take it to you. Check it out at MagicJack.com. :D

I just got done talking with an awful customer support rep after waiting on hold for 30 minutes. She was extremely short with me and rude. Not going to let it ruin our day though. :dancing:

Yes 30 days from the email acceptance date. It is a extremely long time to wait. Looks like old fashioned mailing is now faster than electronic processing. So much for speeding up the process.

I don't think I have any hope of getting an August interview at this point… So I need to decide if I want to be unemployed from July until after I move (whenever that will be) or if I want to sign a contract that commits me to work until January.

I don't know your situation well, but if you're selling your house before moving to the US, you may be able to keep yourself busy for a while. Selling a house involves a lot of time. We recently sold our house and I spent a lot of time painting and fixing things. Now we're moving into a short-term rental until I get the visa so that involves selling furniture on craigslist and getting rid of junk. We'll be ready to move to the US within days of getting the visa. barman.gif

hi guyz,

today i have received an email from NVC stated as beloww

"Dear Sir or Madam:

The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing
of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner
and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment
until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of
the interview. Additional documentation requirements if applicable can be referenced at
the following URL: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3742.html

so my question is that after how many days can i get the interview schedule email from NVC ?
