Kaylara, you are awesome pants!!

I've talked with Todd, he's awesome. Every other time I've called, I get Sandy. She is just a ball o' sunshine *eye roll*. I've decided to call at night from now on. Case # is imminent!

Nice! Since I'm on the West Coast, I'll be calling them in the evening.

I talked to a lady around 3pm (6pm on the East Coast). I forgot to ask her name. She was really nice.

I'm happy that I (beneficiary) can finally talk to someone.

Thank you changnoi.. :) one more question, eventhough the parents are never married?

Yes, the child must be considered as part of both biological parent's households for purposes

of the I-864 Affidavit of Support, unless it can shown that there is no longer a legal obligation

to support the child, such as one parent having had parental rights terminated.

Congrats for your recent approval! NSC approved my case last Friday. I received an email stating that they shipped my case to NVC today. It seems like NSC forwards cases to NVC within a week of approval. :clock:

It'll probably take another week to reach NVC. So you can call NVC to find out if they have received your case two weeks after your approval date. :star:

What a joy to have filled out my DS-260 this morning! Here's hoping for a quick review process ahead.

I filled out the form DS-230 and I understand DS-260 is the online version of DS-230. :star:

Someone mentioned that DS-230 only asked "month-year" for the address and employment sections, but DS-260 asks you to fill out the dates as well? What if I don't remember the exact dates? I guess I'll have to guess, eh? <_<

I also heard that electronic processing might slow down the NVC process. Is it true? If so, I may choose to mail my documents to NVC instead. I think Canadians can choose to file electronically or mail supporting documents to NVC, correct?

I filled out the 230 for practice, but everyone has to do the online DS-260 these days.

There also seems to be some inconsistencies in the required information as per posters in the last couple of weeks. I had absolutely no education history nor prior work sections to fill in, I even checked it several times to be sure, but it only asked for my current place of employment/school.

Prior addresses were by month/year, to and from. Prior visits to the US (x5) were day/month/year, to and from.

You'll find much over the last few weeks about EP in this thread. I simply chose to avoid the hassles that others were experiencing, and did snail mail... yes Canada has the option for either (but once you choose EP, then you must do EP) :)

Yes.

I never married my ex boyfriend but that doesn't mean my daughter isn't any less my daughter, even though she lives with her father because she didn't want to move to the USA away from her friends and his family.

Thank u so much NLR..:)

When we filled out the DS-260 - it asked for the last five visits to the US - but only the start date and number of days. And, it REQUIRED a street address for higher education - even though a street isn't used in the University's address normally - we had to look on Google maps to find the actual street!
