Welcome to another monthly thread for those going through NVC!

Before posting questions, please read the wiki I wrote on the NVC process here. Once you're done, read it one or two more times to really understand it

For up to date time frames, you can view my spreadsheet here. If you would like to be added (or have your entry updated), then please fill out the form here (please read the instructions at the top carefully, especially the update part as people aren't filling the form out correctly [they're filling out information not needed]).

P.S. I will be much less active in reading (and thus answering) posts in these monthly threads, so don't bother asking me questions directly. Just post them here for everyone to see and someone will come along to answer. Remember to be patient

Posting my question here, as I assume March thread will be closed soon.

NVC said we would have to wait for DS260 to be completed and accepted before we can ask for the police report. Has anyone heard this before? My husband just called the registry here and they said they can give it (the police record) to him without an official request. But, information can be really unreliable in this country. (US embassy told me to call back tomorrow as the immigrant visa people evidently only work from 9am-11am. I want that job)

Any thoughts?

I really don't know abt your country but i didn't need any of that prior to the police cert issuance for Montenegro.... whatever that's worth....

I think you'll be fine with the regular one. They didn't require anything special back in 2008

If you supplied an email address to USCIS, your case number and IIN will be emailed maybe a week or so after they're assigned. If they don't have any email on file they'll be sent by postal mail.

I just wanted to post on the new thread

Is it about a week for bills paid to be seen as PAID rather than pending? That bit is not on Saylins spreadsheet.
