You are asking your question in someone's K-1 thread. The K-1 does not have the same forms and procedures as the I-130 and CR-1 spousal visa. You should start your own topic in the proper forum >http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/110-ir-1-cr-1-spouse-visa-process-procedures/

At the top right there is a blue button that says 'Start New Topic'. Click that and post your question there to get the answers you need.

It's unfortunate you did not discover this site before you sent your petition because original documents (e.g. marriage certificate) are never sent to USCIS, only photocopies. NVC requires original documents and despite the efforts you have taken at this point, they may issue you a checklist for the original documentation.

I would advise to start working on getting certified copies of those documents right away. Even if NVC accepts it for some reason, you still have to present them at Embassy. But there is high likelihood that you will be checklisted for not submitting the originals or certified copies to NVC.

many have done this and NVC still requires originals or certified copies of originals. USCIS doesn't forward original documents they keep and its a 6 month long form process to get your originals back.

So get the originals or certified copies.

i want to thank all of you for the advice!!!!!

so today i get another original marriage contract and another birth cert but my police report need 2 to 3 days to be processed so i am going to get it anyway and next week i will translate everything and ill be ready

so my question is what should i do next ? should i send the package before i get anything from them or should i wait there notice that i need the original doc. the problem that we already called them so many times and we explain the situation and told them that we cants get any of the originals again from my country and that's what we thought in the beginning .and they kept saying if you send the originals to the USCIS all we need to do is send copies of everything that goes to the USCIS and send it to the NVC plus a rapport saying that we cant get originals and the USCIS already have them... so we did ...

and now we still waiting it has been about 13 days after we send the package...

rolleyes.gifrolleyes.gifrolleyes.gifrolleyes.gif

should we wait for what they gonna say? or should i just send them another package include the ORIGINAL + TRANSLATION?

please anyone could help or advice...

thanks ClockWatch2.gif ClockWatch2.gif

Give it few more days for NVC to review as it has been almost two weeks. Once you get checklisted (most likely) send the originals with the barcoded coversheet that comes with the checklist.

If they accept it with your justification, you might want to bring your originals to the interview.

hi everyone!!!

we applied for i-130, get approved from the USCIS may 14 2013

how long time does the NVC take to email me back after sending DS-230 ad I-864 package buy the way i did send them in 2 weeks ago

---all the fees are payed

---the packages that we send saying delivered

the only thing is that we send them copies of everything not original as they said because the original went already to the USCIS when we applied for the i-130 .and where i live i am not able to get another original marriage contract but i could get birth cert and police report but it take so long time time

so we called the NVC and explain to them the situation and everything and they said we just need to proof that we gave the original to the USCIS and they gonna check on them and on my first case , so we did send them copies of all the original .

now my questions are !!!!

is there anybody get to that point before with the NVC ?

is that normal ?sad.pngsad.png

how long time does the NVC take to finish the process of the case and schedule and interview ?huh.png

and how there gonna contact me? alien.gif alien.gif

You will have to wait for either checklists or for a case complete email. Can take up to 20 business days (no weekends or holidays) for them to review each part.

Correct, but you may well have to call NVC's attention to the fact you made the mistake of sending original documents to USCIS. I think you mean that some of the originals were sent to USCIS, as the birth certificate of the foreigner and police report would not have gone in with the petition.

although you had a conversation with a human at NVC -

did you cover this conversation in a cover letter with the IV set ? If not, expect a checklist letter already.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

that's great you submitted bits of 'that conversation' in a cover letter, explaining what's what.

In a bit - what you submitted will wind it's way from the mail room to a reviewer's desk.

There's a queue, aye?

You can always call NVC and inquire about casefile status, no worries there.
