Post 2 of this thread. Go to the first page and read the first two posts, at least twice. :)

There is a FAQ on the second post that seems to be widely ignored by many unfortunately. sleep.png

Please can some one help me with one question regarding NVC affidavit of support filing. I want to know that my husband is sponsoring me and also including income of hs brother as a house hold member who also lives at the same house via filing i 864A. The instructions on the form tell that you need to submit evidence for relationship and same residence. they will submit birth certificate for evidence.. but how are they going to provide evidence for same residence? can some help me with this?

Are they trying to combine their income? If not have the brother sign a completed I-864 and your spouse sign a completed I-864 and save the trouble. The I-864a is meant for spouses, adult children who are claimed dependents or if you need to combine income in a household.

Hope that helps!

BTW to show they live at the same house, they would present a lease or mortgage that shows both names, driver's licences that show the same residence, or utility bills that show both names or both at same residence.

Post 2 of this thread. There's a plethora of information in the first two posts, which clearly you've skipped over. Go back and read everything. Then re-read everything. Your answers are all there.

*sigh* How true (and thus unfortunate)...

Yes they were combining the income. Oh okay. so if his brother files a spearate i-864 would that be fine because my husband's income is not enough to support me

Today I received an email response from the Ombudsman's office to my inquiry sent on 5/22/13. That is a 48 days response time for anyone who decides to contact the Ombudsman's office.

The email said that USCIS records show our petition was forwarded to NVC on 5/29, which is what I was able to find out that day by persistently calling ISRs and being lucky to talk to one who was willing to share that information.

48 days! I was expecting 60 with mine ;) but alassss I cancelled the complaint

If the brother does, there is no need to combine income. If they combine they have to include each other on the household counts as well (3 people instead of 2).

Probably but at least it means they have started looking at your IV package. :-)

Hey Saylin.... So I know with the initial submission of the packages that they don't show up in the NVC system until they are about to be reviewed. Do you know if that is the case with RFE responses? They have been showing there is something waiting to be reviewed since yesterday. The e-mail request for the supervisor review of the birth document was sent 2 weeks ago, and they received the DS-230 in the mail on 07/01.... There was no mention of something waiting there last week.... I should be receiving the BC within the next week, so I am debating whether or not to turn around and send that to them right away.... I think I am going to wait. Some Moroccan peeps over in MENA are telling me he did not get the correct one again.... Either he's blowing smoke up my bum, or the MENA peeps don't know the changes going on over there. I'll find out soon enough, I'm sure!

edit: I know there is mention of the documents showing up in post 2, but I was not sure if that applied to RFE responses as well

husband - i-864

brother - i-864A

both must supply a birth certificate showing the common parent. that's 2 birth certificates, one for each human male.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I would usually say it's the same thing for checklists, where they won't show up in the system until it's being reviewed, but perhaps not in your case. Or what they're referring to might be that supervisor review. Hard to tell unless the operators can tell you more. I would hold off though on sending the BC until you hear back from the supervisor review. Keep calling once or twice a day to find out the status of that.

Thanks, Saylin! That's what I was thinking! I would think that it's the e-mail/phone request for review, too, just because it seems to be taking them longer than a week to get to the snail mail. I'm very interested to see what transpires. ClockWatch2.gif
