Hi Guys,

My wife sent me her DS-230. The thing is she sent me 3 copies. 2 were pre filled and signed, and the other is only signed. There seems to be a slight mistake in the form, and I was wondering if submitting a hand written (form filled up via pen) copy was ok? Are there any special instructions for this? It seems that, for the I-864, there are some special instructions for having the form filled out via computer. Could you please confirm that I can submit a copy filled by pen.

And since, it would be in my handwritting, would I have to fill out the part in the DS-230, . Were you assisted in completing this application?

Thanks Guys.

Sure you can, just use a black pen. :)

Do they send email when packages has been accepted???? Or just need to call to know....????

Nope, they don't email you telling you the package has been accepted. You need to call to find this out.

husband - i-864

brother - i-864A

both must supply a birth certificate showing the common parent. that's 2 birth certificates, one for each human male.

hey darnell. so will i864a be fine as a sibling and household member? or shud they file i864 both each. my husband as a sponsor, and brother as a joint sponsor?

I have another question. Birth certificate will prove relation. what will prove the common residence..

I want to add, that my husband was unemployed until 1st july. He has just started his job. so he was listed as a dependent on his brother's tax receipts. he does not have enough income. he himself relied on his brother's income uptil now. now plz guide me which forms? i 864a (household member form which wud add up his july income and all of his brother's) or separate i864 form.. Apart from his brother, their mother also lives in the house who is also a dependent on his brother. so his brother was responsible for his mother and my husband both. Now my husband has filed my case, and gotten a job in July. No taxes paid uptil now. Kindly also tell me he includes his brother in his household size to combine his income (i.e 3), would dat affect anything.. (i.e not mentioning his mom as he doesnot pay for his mom..his brother does)

Are they trying to combine their income? If not have the brother sign a completed I-864 and your spouse sign a completed I-864 and save the trouble. The I-864a is meant for spouses, adult children who are claimed dependents or if you need to combine income in a household.

Hope that helps!

BTW to show they live at the same house, they would present a lease or mortgage that shows both names, driver's licences that show the same residence, or utility bills that show both names or both at same residence.

Hey Guys, Sent my wife's DS-3032 (choice of agent) the other day, and I was wondering, how do I find out if it has been accepted or not?

Another question is that Im getting all my I-864 documents ready, just waiting for the status to change to PAID. I was wondering, what is the best way to send this? Via priority mail? USPS? And where did you place your documents (what type of envelope)? Thanks guys!
