The style of writing seemed to me to be of Nigerian origin in verbage that is why I suspect the beneficiary wrote it.

Growing up here and the job she has (USC) would indicate her verbage and writing style would be different.

Anyway, it is up to them now to use all advice given and have the USC log on for further advice if needed.

It simply means shes a USC and she has resided here a great portion of her life. There are plenty of areas in the US that are multi-lingual. They are heavily populated with immigrants and local shops are operated in both languages. Havent you ever been to a place like China town? Or little Italy? A immigrant fluent in the language can live in that area and never need to speak a word of English and get by just fine. The US gov offers pamphlets and phone options for both English and Spanish. Saying or implying she lives here and therefore must be educated and or fluent is judgmental and ignorant.

I think everyone's point (whether they realize it or not) is if this community is questioning the authenticity of the writing, what must the CO think? We are a pretty accepting and supportive community. The CO's sole job is to sniff out fraud.

All it means is Texy and his wife need to go above and beyond the normal measures of evidence in order to soothe any doubts.

I work in documentation and training, and was an English tutor in college years ago. It is not unlikely that I might have a co-worker from Brazil whose first language is Portuguese and who struggles with written English from time to time. If that person was in the same situation as the OP's wife, and asked me to look over a letter for them to make sure it was grammatically correct and ready to submit, I would be happy to do that. Maybe the OP's wife has a friend or knows a sympathetic secretary at work who can look over the letter to make sure it sounds more correct.

forget trying to cummincate via phone with the embassy in Nigeria( especially for such serious situation). you only get get a front person who cuts the call or hurriedly tells you to email them.

With all due respect you can't compare someone who can freely visit the US before and during the process with someone from Nigeria. We USC's married to nigerians its all on us to go there. And there are few very few countries they can go to without Visa so a 3rd country meet up is almost impoSsible.

It happens life happens.

Everybody doesn't have that luxury or leeway.

So don't judge or compare because when it comes to Nigeria there is no comparison.

I am glad someone finally addressed this. I am yet to agree that just being USC;born and bred guarantees your grammar in english will be good.When I first arrived here, I was shocked( coming from a country colonized by the british) at the way so many people born and bred here spoke english but with time I learnt to ignore it to the extent that my own sentence construction has become affected LOL.

Occasionally I still get people come to me asking for help in editing something they wrote or spellings and I am talking about USC born and bred including parents grannies etc..

There are a number of grammatical mistakes in your post. However mathematics is my strong point, not grammar. So I will resist correcting them.

One could comment that this would be evidence of the failure of the US education system, not that the UK one is much better.

However I just do not believe that someone born and brought up in the US wrote the first one, and I have doubts about the second as it does not follow common US vernacular.

I don't criticize anyone's English writing capabilities here because I too came as an immigrant and all I could manage of the language was "See Jane run...Jane has a ball."

I was not able to do simple things as pay a bill or do a bank transaction due to the language.

I was determined to learn English and read hundreds of books to familiarize myself with the language and had thousands of conversations with people to learn to speak and write it. I am not saying anyone should or shouldn't and respect their personal choice, if they do not want to learn then fine but there are consequences if one does not advance in English.

In this context it is absolutely vital and of the utmost importance to be able to submit a top notch mistake free rebuttal to

a NOID/NOIR letter or kiss this case good bye.

I want this couple to understand this, and I want them to succeed and be approved. That is the only reason I have critiqued

the 1. and 2. letter.

In my opinion it is a must for the USC to contact Marc Ellis, who is an expert on returned cases, reasonable in fees and will do a phone consultation on the points that need to be addressed.

I can not emphasize enough that a well written rebuttal package ( not a couple of paragraphs) will be critical to him being approved, perhaps more so than face time at this point in time as she does seem to have valid reasons but solid proof needs to be submitted and extra face time would be a bonus.
