So, USPS has lost my oath letter... But I called USCIS and they told me that my oath is on 9/3! Can someone please update the list? Thanks!

Also, for others who have already received an oath letter. Do I need to take anything other than my green card to the ceremony?

Indomex, how did you know that USPS lost your oath letter? DO you actually get an email when they have your schedule?

I-130 for Parents (Mom and Dad)

3.15.2014: Mailed I-130 Packet for Mom and Dad

3.21.2014: Received email notification with case # for both petitions; case forwarded to NBC for processing

3.21.2014: Check cashed

3.22.2014: Hard copy NOA1 received

4.08.2014: Both I-130 approved (notification received via email) - It only took three weeks!!!

4.11.2014: Received NOA2 approval notice in the mail.

5.01.2014: Called NVC to ask for status of paperwork. Advised they received both application on 4.28. Advised to call in 30 business days for an update.

6.02.2014: Email notification received from NVC that shows parents' NVC case number and instructions to pay AOS Fee and fill out DS 261.

6.03.2014: Paid AOS fee ($88 for both petitions)

To my knowledge just the green card.

How did you find out the USPS lost your oath letter? I am glad you caught that before your oath date otherwise it would have been a disaster.

Indomex, how did you know that USPS lost your oath letter? DO you actually get an email when they have your schedule?

Indomex wrote in another thread that they got the notification 9 days ago and still no letter in the mail. It is presumed lost since their mail typically comes in a few days after the text/email.

P.S. Indomex I think all you's have to bring is your oath letter (which you don't have) and green card. Don't quote me on that though.

Nimaan and HappyDancer. My online status changed 9 days ago to "we scheduled your oath and sent you a notice..." But I never received the notice. So, I called USCIS and the Tier 2 officer confirmed that the oath letter was mailed out on Aug 8. USPS has always delivered my USCIS notices within 3 working days of the mailing date. So, I am guessing that since a lot more time than 3 working days have passed, USPS has lost my oath letter. It may yet arrive but I'd be surprised if it did.

Fortunately, USCIS gave me my oath time and location over the phone. She told me to arrive an hour early (8:15 AM) so I can fill out the N-445 form and surrender my green card.

It's funny that the notoriously unreliable online case status actually worked and saved me this time. Otherwise, I may have just sat back and missed my oath ceremony.

Ok, good to know. A follow up question. How far was the in-line for oath schedule to scheduled? I just want to make sure I don't skip a beat here. :) Thanks!

3.15.2014: Mailed I-130 Packet for Mom and Dad

3.21.2014: Received email notification with case # for both petitions; case forwarded to NBC for processing

3.21.2014: Check cashed

3.22.2014: Hard copy NOA1 received

4.08.2014: Both I-130 approved (notification received via email) - It only took three weeks!!!

4.11.2014: Received NOA2 approval notice in the mail.

5.01.2014: Called NVC to ask for status of paperwork. Advised they received both application on 4.28. Advised to call in 30 business days for an update.

6.02.2014: Email notification received from NVC that shows parents' NVC case number and instructions to pay AOS Fee and fill out DS 261.

6.03.2014: Paid AOS fee ($88 for both petitions)

So, USPS has lost my oath letter... But I called USCIS and they told me that my oath is on 9/3! Can someone please update the list? Thanks!

Also, for others who have already received an oath letter. Do I need to take anything other than my green card to the ceremony?

Hi,

This is what I brought to my oath ceremony: Notice of receipt acceptance, fingerprint notice, interview schedule notice, recommended for approval letter, passport and my green card. All I was asked for was my greencard. By tthe way, don't worry too much about the oath letter. I did not have it with me because my field office called me up to schedule me 3 days before the actual ceremony, so sending out an oath letter would of cut it too close. They just handed it over to me at the ceremony itself and I filled out the part on the back where they ask about any trips after the interview, or arrests and stuff.

Indomex wrote in another thread that they got the notification 9 days ago and still no letter in the mail. It is presumed lost since their mail typically comes in a few days after the text/email.

P.S. Indomex I think all you's have to bring is your oath letter (which you don't have) and green card. Don't quote me on that though.
