Expedite process due to medical issues?

I am beginning the IR1/CR1 process (or K3, still somewhat debating, but that is a separate issue) Is there any way one can expedite their process in the case that one's spouse has medical issues?

The K-3 visa is obsolete, and if you apply for it it is usually administratively closed because IR-1 / CR-1 visas are processed much quicker now than they were previously.

Expedite because your spouse has inoperable brain cancer and 2 months to live? Yes

Expedite because your spouse has the sniffles? No

If they are reliant on you and it would cause a large financial loss to you two because of your separation (you would have to prove this), then yes you could possibly expedite. They rarely expedite things unless you are in a real emergency which would be very harmful to you or your spouse.

Very unlikely, I have never heard of anyones request be accepted. would be good to hear under what circumstances the request was accepted. Possible in similar cases as requst for amnisty maybe?

i have seen several expedites approved in just the past three months that i have been here regularly

op- the answer to an expedite is always no unless you actually ask them.

theyre rare but definitely not unheard of.

if this issue is important to your family, then please apply.

When explaining about the K3, it is important to get the terminology correct in your explanation. Otherwise, your statement has no credibility. The I-129F for spouse is what gets administratively closed. That happens BEFORE applying for anything.

Expedites when the US Citizen has a serious medical problem are fairly common. Expedites for the foreigner's medical problems, are uncommon.

If you have already filed your application or petition:

You can make an expedite request by contacting the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283. The NCSC will take a “service request” and forward your expedite request to the office with jurisdiction over the application or petition. You also have the options of 1). visiting your local office by scheduling an InfoPass appointment or 2). writing a letter to the local office or service center.

I am confused. I plan to write a letter to expedite the process, but I am not sure if I am supposed to write it during the USCIS stage or the NVC stage. I am thinking USCIS stage since the links are all on the USCIS website, but I thought to confirm.

You heard wrong.

Getting knocked up only demonstrates that you don't use birth control, and does not demonstrate that you qualify for an expedite. An expedite is essentially taking someone else's spot ahead of you for yourself.

A high-risk pregnancy, where either the mother or child's life was at risk, would qualify for an expedite. A normal pregnancy (i.e. most women's) would not.
