My NOA1 from VSC for my I-130 was May 17th, and got my NOA2 on Dec 20th.

Your NOA1 is May 15th. Your case's decision is bound to arrive soon, my guess would be within the next 2 weeks.

Go to the USCIS status checker. Punch in your EAC case number. Then try adding one or subtracting one from the last number, and see the status of other cases that fall right around yours. (just make sure the one's you are looking at are also I-130's)

In my case, my two petitions were filed the same day and were adjudicated 11 days apart. So, they are obviously not working on petitions in order that they received them.

Guys,

There are many of us here waiting for our NOA2 for several months, and trying to find out what is going on have been not successful. I am trying to find out if there is pattern behind to why is our files being taken so long. I am going to ask couple of question, and I am going to answer them myself (In my situation). Please share your answers as well, if please.

1. Do you have a Islamic Name?

Yes, do. Not a Muslim though

2. Do you get stopped at the Airport and face few questions due to your name?

Yes, I do.

3. Are you from a region such as middle east or known to have trouble?

Yes and no

no, no and no again and im at the csc office....6.5 months waiting....

Vermont had a huge amount of petitions come through in months May-July, more than double what they had at this time last year. They are slowing down because the volume of paperwork has more than increased! We have been waiting over 7 months now - filing from abroad, no criminal background, no religion or ethnicity that could be "suspicious", been married for 5 years, etc.....pretty much one of the most straight forward cases with no red flags....and we are still waiting more than 7 months later. So I really don't think it has anything to do with religion, race, etc...

NOA1 - June 4th, 2012

NOA2 - January 11th, 2013

Johna1, I have been wondering about the same questions, and I think you may be onto something. But after seeing others that have answered no to all three questions, I have my doubts. Now I just think that USCIS is just incompetent!

I'm not laughing. Make a quick guess how many people's forms are going to be up because new people don't know when it's safe to give someone the benefit of the doubt. I fervently hope this does not result in any serious mistakes. These people don't know, or don't care, when they are costing someone time or money they can't afford.

Excellent point(s)!!!
