Guys,

There are many of us here waiting for our NOA2 for several months, and trying to find out what is going on have been not successful. I am trying to find out if there is pattern behind to why is our files being taken so long. I am going to ask couple of question, and I am going to answer them myself (In my situation). Please share your answers as well, if please.

1. Do you have a Islamic Name?

Yes, do. Not a Muslim though

2. Do you get stopped at the Airport and face few questions due to your name?

Yes, I do.

3. Are you from a region such as middle east or known to have trouble?

Yes and no

Yes, but not for name.

3. Are you from a region such as middle east or known to have trouble?

I'm not actually waiting for a long time but I felt like answering anyways.

No, neither of us do.

2. Do you get stopped at the Airport and face few questions due to your name?

Yes, but not for name.

Husband is from Northern Ireland.

One BIG reason your file is taking so long is that you filed through Vermont. There are many Vermont filers who have waited several months, and it's not because of their origin, but because Vermont is backed up. I hope your cases clear SOON!!

I'm a dual US/Hungarian citizen (both by birth; Hungarian citizenship verification TBA), and my husband is a dual British/Irish citizen (by treaty) from Northern Ireland. We are atheists.

No to all. It's just because we were sent to Vermont. No other reason. Just in case you think it's discrimination based upon origin or religion.

What's your Noa 1 date? Mine is 6/14 and there has been no sign in sight of anything. The only thing I know is that they seem to be working on cases from the beginning of June.

We are all waiting...it's just a "vermont" thing not a security check delay or anything. If your NOA 1 is earlier than June I would start contacting local Senator of your district. They can look into it for you if it's been too long.

I-130 mailed: 6/11/12

NOA1: 6/14/12

Touched: 6/19/12

and so we wait

It's not discrimination. It's because California and Vermont probably have only 5 people at their office working on these cases.

Someone on here said they heard (it's a rumor so treat it as such) that Vermont just hired a bunch of people.

I'm wondering whether that is why things seem to be held up at local offices, because managers waited to see the workload to decide how many staffers to hire. But I wouldn't know for sure.

Guess they're all busy being trained then

I'm not laughing. Make a quick guess how many people's forms are going to be  up because new people don't know when it's safe to give someone the benefit of the doubt. I fervently hope this does not result in any serious mistakes. These people don't know, or don't care, when they are costing someone time or money they can't afford.

If they are being hired and trained, I agree with you. Common sense isn't so common nowadays.

Well, you've been at VSC since mid-may.

VSC has been slow in it's adjudicator's queue, so

maybe yer due this month or next, for getting some notice about yer petition?

Hang in there !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

No different than all of the NBC filers being demanded beneficiary BCs.

My NOA1 from VSC for my I-130 was May 17th, and got my NOA2 on Dec 20th.

Your NOA1 is May 15th. Your case's decision is bound to arrive soon, my guess would be within the next 2 weeks.

Go to the USCIS status checker. Punch in your EAC case number. Then try adding one or subtracting one from the last number, and see the status of other cases that fall right around yours. (just make sure the one's you are looking at are also I-130's)
