The longest we ever went was a solid year, almost to the day. Most of that year, I was alone and pregnant :( It's difficult, and a battle, but you can do it.

We've been together 6 years this December. And we've spent probably 4 years apart. A year for the visa wait and the rest is time lost due to deployments.

For us, it makes our marriage stronger. We are in perpetual "newlyweds" and make the most of the time we DO get to spend together. So instead of being sad about our separations, we celebrate our times together.

It's all in your perspective.

TOO LONG!

We first met over 5 years ago. Met in person for the first time in June 2011, and then again in May 2012. It's worse now after we actually met in person. I live on the computer and she is online daily also, but it's almost torture doing that. It's like we are so close but yet so far. I have great internet service and we are in the process of trying to boost her setup so she has a better signal, or even has a signal now. What makes things even worse now was our initial I-129F was denied after 5 months due to lack of proof, or no proof in my case. :(

When he has his POE next weekend  it will be 9 months to the day since I last saw him. We were together online for almost 3 years before that, but after being with him in person for awhile, being without him was so much harder. Ten more days and that wait is over forever.

Hi. I was wondering how long it was since anyone has met up with their bf/gf and how they have being coping with the separation?

It has been only one month, just went in August. We started dating in 2008, so it has been tedious at times.

Phase I - IV - Completed the Immigration Journey

We were married 2008. She was living in Japan at the time whilst I was trying to complete my university education in Ghana. Visited her in Japan between January and Februrary 2009. We didnt get to see each other again until January 2011 almost 2 years apart. It was emotionally terrible to say the least. The reason being that she returned to the US, had to find a job coupled with the craziness in Ghana about immigrant visas backlogged back then. But to the glory of God we made it through, been here for almost 2 years now.
