Event Description

Embassy Review : I arrived to the consulate at 12 PM, ended up being 30 minutes early, so the security had me wait outside until 5 minutes before my scheduled interview. I showed him my passport and interview e-mail then proceeded inside. I went through security ,i can't bring electronic devices, liquids and foods.so i putted my cellphone, USB and perfume on the tray.the security gave me a visitor card and she told me to wear it and she also gave me a deposit card so i can take it back my cellphone, USB and my parfume after i'm done with my interview ..Then moved onto the immigrant visa room and i waited again . there were 2 ladies who got the same the interview date as me that day.. 1 lady applied for K1 Visa and other young lady applied for immigrant visa sa well..At 1pm, window 5 opened and I was the first in line. I gave the lady on window 5 my medical exam packet and my passport..she told me to open my Med Ex and gave it to her.. She returned the I-130 my husband mailed in. The lady asked me to wait , so I went and had a seat.

As soon as I sat down, there was an announcement stating that the servers were down (wtf?! lol :P) the lady on window 5 called my name, she told me that the servers were down and she gave me 2 options : i can wait until 2.30 pm until the servers went back on again or I could either come back tomorrow and reschedule my interview for tommorow.. I already made the trip up here, so I told the lady that I was willing to wait. Luckily, they came back up an hour later. Right after the servers came back up, I was called immediately and was directed to window 1.

I was greeted by an american man at the window. He was so friendly and polite. He had me sign the DS-230 in front of him. After I signed , he asked me to do fingerprints in front of him. Once that was done, He began with the interview questions. The interview only ended up being about 10 - 15 minutes.

The questions were:

1.Who is the petitioner?
2.How did you meet your husband?
3.When did you finally meet him in person?
4.After he came to visit you, what happened next?
5.Did you still make contact?
6.Have you ever traveled to the U.S. before?
7.How did your husband propose?
8.When did you get married?
9.Why did it take so long for you to apply for a visa? ( i've been married for more than 3 years )

Once he finished with the questions, he told me that he already reviewed my case and my visa's approved.he gave me a white slip and told me to come back on friday around 2.30 until 3.15 pm . I was shocked and surprised! I got nervous and asked him " are you sure?" and he said yes that I am approved for my visa. i asked him again " you're not going to change your mind right??" He laughed and he said not to worry ..he told me to come back on Friday. i'm so happy and i said "thank you and have a nice day" He told me with a smile " Welcome to the US" .
.This was a wonderful experience and I thank all of you in VJ for your help and support! Most of all, to my Husband Jason who I love so much for his love and support throughout this whole process!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
