If it really is 7.9 months to wait for a decision on our I-130s, that is completely unfair! I think if anything they should be right on track with all the other I-130s! But of course it would not surprise me if CSC approved a October filer before one of us transfers were approved. If I knew this was going to happen I would have waited a month or two to file! So irritating! I guess we all have bad luck! I guess all we can do is be hopeful!

USCIS

08/13/2012: I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox from Jordan (Nahda Office)

04/6/2013: NOA2 (228 days from NOA1)

NVC

05/20/13 NVC Received Case (Waiting on case number)
06/7/2013 NVC case number assinged

Correct. According to the USCIS it is 5 months...but mostly everyone gets approved within 3-4. I just wish this long process would hurry...

Its not just Aug and Sept filers.... October filers are getting transferred and so on...this is new procedure until they come up with something else to confuse us.

Ok so yesterday I call USCIS from work, to try and figure out why two weeks after my NOA1 I STILL(and many other people with MSC numbers as well) can't see my case status. Well, they ask me if I'm the petitioner or beneficiary, I tell them I'm the beneficiary, they ask if the petitioner is with me, I'm like nope she's at home...so they're like well you need to tell the petitioner to contact us...I guess even for such a simple question they cannot provide an answer unless you're the petitioner.

So I get home, and ask my wife to call...They ask her a few questions(which I could have answered as well), and they can't find the number in their system either. Then they transfer her to someone else who asks some more questions, who CAN find the file. Bottom line they said they are having technical problems with the computer system(I guess it's just as bad as taking a month to fix a printer) with adding new receipt numbers in and they are working on it. They also told her that it's being processed and that processing time is 5-6 months, although they would probably say that whether it was 3 months or 9 months.

That's all I know folks.

The operators when you call USCIS haave basically the same info that you have. They can't tell you where, or why your case has been transferred unless you speak to a supervisor I suppose. So don't even waste your time. This transfer thing isn't so out of the ordinary so just hang on and be patient :)

Well I just wanted to know why I(and some others of us) can't check my case status. My guess is the second person she talked to was a supervisor cause she was able to see things the first person couldn't.

Oh my goodness gracious, A&T is correct! The National Average has been updated to 7.9 months! It used to say 5.0 months. Yikes, that is scary. Of course we have no idea yet if the process for us transfers will be faster (because of wider distribution) or slower (because workers at our local offices not used to this). I was just wondering if there are any members of Visa Journey who were transferred before me so I can keep track of their progress. Anybody know?

Thanks,

Treva

My case was transferred to NBC on 9-19 and it was last touched 9-28. I am guessing the 9-28 is when it was sent to or arrived at my local office.

hamigirl, how do we find out if/when our case was "touched"?

thanks,

Treva

my case was last touched 9/25 - and assuming it was sent to local USCIS as stated above .

Jordan, how do we find out if/when our case was "touched"?

Thanks,

Treva
