I messaged my supervisor over 2 weeks ago requesting the letter and she's been taking forever and that's all I need to send off my i-864 packet. Does anyone know if i can type it on my own and sign it?

You are going to forge your supervisor's name or sign it yourself?

Better to just type it up and give it to your supervisor to sign.

You are going to forge your supervisor's name or sign it yourself?

Better to just type it up and give it to your supervisor to sign.

no make my own letter stating what I make and signing my name..i told her that as well but still no response..

They are not looking for you to swear that you have employment. They are looking for "proof" of employment. You writing them a letter is not proof, nor is it evidence of any kind. It is just you stating that you have employment. You should get an employment verification letter. You can write it. Just get your employer/supervisor to sign it in front of you. Tell them how important it is to get this done immediately. You writing a letter and signing it is not verification of your employment. Anyone can do that.

They are not looking for you to swear that you have employment. They are looking for "proof" of employment. You writing them a letter is not proof, nor is it evidence of any kind. It is just you stating that you have employment. You should get an employment verification letter. You can write it. Just get your employer/supervisor to sign it in front of you. Tell them how important it is to get this done immediately. You writing a letter and signing it is not verification of your employment. Anyone can do that.

We never sent in a letter of employment. We submitted copies of his pay stubs and a letter explaining why we didnt have the letter. We figured at the time, that if we got an RFE for it, then so be it, we would take care of it at that point. We never got an RFE for it.

If I were you, I wouldnt send in a letter of employment at all, I would send a letter stating why I didnt have one, then back of proof of employment with current pay stubs.

You can write it, but you CANNOT sign it. But remember, an employment letter is only optional.

USCIS

10/01/11 - Filed (2) I-130's

10/04/11 - NOA-1

04/05/12 - NOA-2

Your I-130 was approved in 184 days from your NOA1 date.

NVC

04/23/12 - NVC received both cases (18 days/12 business days from NOA-2)

05/07/12 - Case numbers and IIN's (14 days/10 business days since NVC received)

05/07/12 - Sent out DS-3032 by email; auto-response received

05/08/12 - AOS fee invoiced, paid - "IN PROCESS"

05/09/12 - AOS fee shows as "PAID"

05/10/12 - Spouse's DS-3032 accepted; minor child's rejected = had petitioner call NVC = received verbal acceptance from operator

HR is way to go for larger companies. I went to HR twice during journey for different letters. Easy to get really quick. Company letterhead.

HR took forever to write a letter so my husband typed one up and brought it in to HR. They said he can't use that and typed the new one up right away.

Married May 2011

10/07/2011: NOA1

01/27/2012: Barcode arrived via e-mail

03/06/2012: I-864&DS-230 sent together

A current pay stub showing your year to date earnings is an excellent substitute for an employer letter. I actually prefer the pay stub.
