The backlog is only in certain parts of the NVC. They're still just taking a few days to review packages! You might have a CC by this Friday ;)

Oh that would be so great  I will be landing on Friday night, so it will be another thing to celebrate :star:

P.S. Congradulations to all those who got cases complete/interviews scheduled, etc :)

Looks like they might be fixing the payment portal! I got that once or twice when logging in to check our invoices. Let's hope that's what's going on!!

I just tried to log on our account and I'm getting "The server at ceac.state.gov can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS is the network service that translates a website's name to its Internet address."

I betcha a dollar to a Timmy's doughnut, they're working on the web page and tomorrow you guys will be able to pay your invoices!

Sorry to hear you are going through a difficult time at the moment. May God grant peace of mind to you and your family.

There really isn't. But there's nothing that can be done. The only thing my husband worries about is money. We're not independently wealthy, but we're not destitute either. If we have to break into the savings bonds, we do, giving himself an ulcer over it isn't going to change things. (OMG I sound just like him!)

Dude must not have allowed himself enough time. Mr. Sheeshka is going a week before the interview at Medisys just in case.

Obviously no idea why the guy's med results weren't ready and didn't hear what he had to do when he had them. (Thought it might be useful to know.)

When I booked my medical at Medisys they asked me the date of my interview to make sure I had time to get results. (Results take 3 business days.)

My interview was a Tuesday so the latest I could have a medical was the preceding Wednesday. We flew in on the Tuesday and then flew back the following Wednesday. Although we could have had a Tuesday flight we decided we didn't want the stress of that added to the interview.

We're going to fly in the day before the medical (when ever that will be) spend a week exploring Montreal, then leave the day after the interview back to Calgary. I got a Montreal guide book from AAA, so we'll have plenty to see!

I just had a feeling something was going to happen today.. and it wasn't going to be good. My Uncle in California passed away this afternoon.

With all this immigration mess taking so long, we really can't afford to buy me a round trip, last minute ticket to Vacaville. Plus I leave next Wed. for Winnipeg.. :( The big crapper is today was my Aunt and Uncle's wedding anniversary. *sigh*

Sorry for your loss... (F)

Sorry for your loss Sheesh.

I called the NVC last night about my lack of an IV bill and was told it's taking 20 business days for anything right now, my ds-261 was accepted on the 20th I should have my IV bill 20 business days after that, they received AOS package, 20 days to review, blah blah blah, she was very nice and apologetic about the backlog. Man I hope things speed up soon.

HA!!! they just repeat the 20 days line about EVERYTHING!!! my IV was received yesterday morning and i called last night ~10pm to ask if it was scanned in or not and an operator told me no that it could take up to 20 bus days for them to do anything... lol, knowing that was a bunch of bull, i just said ok and hung up, this morning at 9:30 am and i had my case complete... LOL

My husband is flipping out on me. He's not usually the one that flips, so it's really upsetting me.

He's going on and on about "A month isn't much time to book flights and a hotel blah blah blah" Well dear that's about all the time you get with Montreal, there's not a damn thing I can do about it. If I throw out our expedite ace then the interview will come up even sooner. ####### you want me to do about it? Drive to New Hampshire and take hostages?

I'll go with you lol

Yup, you can definitely write out your list of required documents and we'll verify.

Nope, no need to mail the DS-3032 if you email it.

The reason why I suggested waiting for your NOA2 date before she mails it off is because of her signature. It would be better if her signature is dated within a month of NVC receiving the packages. It might not be a big deal if it's a few months, but I wouldn't recommend it. It's currently taking a month to just get a case number assigned, it would still be another 2 or 3 weeks before you can mail off the IV package. Does it take nearly 2 months to receive mail from India?

Here's the list of documents I have identified which I need from wife to send it to me from India in order to complete NVC procedure, please take a look at it and see if there is any change required:

1. Have my wife send out an email to NVC for DS-3032 (Choice of Agent) with petitioner (myself) designated as an agent. Send this email after NVC has issued a case number in their system.

2. My wife's 2 Passport sized photographs

3. My wife must complete form DS-230 Part – I (signed) and Part – II (unsigned) and should have a date marked after NOA2 date.

4. Photocopy of the biographic data page of my wife's passport.

5. My wife's photocopy of birth certificate.

6. Original police certificate of the beneficiary. <---------- Question: Is it mandatory to send an original only? Can we just send a photocopy of her police certificate to NVC, and present an original when she will go for an interview at US Embassy in India?

7. Make a photocopy of complete set of all documents above and keep it with us for our records.

I am responsible to prepare all following documents as a petitioner:

1. I-864 Affidavit of Support

2. IRX Tax Transcripts for the last three years (or copy of last three years tax returns)

3. Employment Letter

4. Pay Stubs for the current year

5. Certified photocopy of marriage certificate <-------- Question: Should I make a photocopy of this certificate and need to have a local notary sign as a verified true copy? Or only a photocopy of the original document will be sufficient?

Let me know if there is anything missing or mentioned incorrectly.

Thanks a lot!

For the passport photos of your wife, make sure she (or you) write her full name, date of birth, and case number on the back, lightly.

Her birth certificate has to be an original/certified copy. If you just send a photocopy, you'll get a checklist.

Yes, it's mandatory to send the original PCC or you will get a checklist. Also, for beneficiaries in India, a Passport Clearance Certificate may be needed. I suggest you research this.

You have to include the original/certified copy of the marriage certificate in the IV package, not the AOS package. If you don't include it in the IV package, you will get a checklist.

The photocopies in (7) are just of: birth certificate and marriage certificate (the two documents you want returned at the interview). You don't need photocopies of anything else.

Also, for the AOS package, if you don't send tax transcripts, then you have to send the ENTIRE tax return, meaning the 1040, as well as any 1099s, schedules, worksheets, etc. And you NEED to include the W2s as well. I suggest you get the tax transcripts as you have plenty of time and NVC much prefers these over the tax returns.

Sure, I will add her full name, DOB and case number on the back of her photos.

If she makes a photocopy of her birth certificate and marriage certificate, and then have a notary in India verify a photocopy and then stamp as as a certified copy. Will that work?

She already got her new Indian passport after marriage with updated middle name replaced with my name instead of her father's name. I believe she had to get Passport clearance from local police office to get a new passport. So I will check with her to see if she can obtain both (Police and Passport) clearance certificates. I will do some research to make sure Passport clearance certificate is not needed.

Are you saying that I need to add ORIGINAL birth certificate and marriage certificate in IV package? And she will get them back during Interview at Embassy in India?

Yes, I requested IRS to send me a transcript of my 2011, 2010 and 2009 year returns. Hopefully I should receive in next week.
