I'm guessing there is a MASSIVE back log at the NVC right now...

How long was it taking before, from case rec'd to case closed?

I honestly thought I might be back with my Husband by August. Now, I'm not so sure :crying:

29/7/2010 - Married.

USCIS

9/11/2011 - I-130 Sent.

16/11/2011 - NOA 1.

26/4/2012 - NOA2.

162 DAYS.

NVC

7/5/2012 - NVC recieved case.

23/5/2012 - NVC Case Number.

31/5/2012 - A.O.S Paid. (Only due to other expenses)

15/6/2012 - IV Paid. (Only due to other expenses)

18/6/2012 - A.O.S & IV Packs sent to NVC.

9/7/2012 - A.O.S & IV Packs re-sent to NVC (No thanks to the courier...)

24/7/2012 - Checklist recieved. (They actually have everything they need)

25/7/2012 - CASE COMPLETE AT THE NVC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

01/08/2012 - Case left NVC, Recieved Interview Email!!!

79 Days (Including weekends)

7/6/2012 - Medical (London)

24/09/2012 - Interview (London Embassy) CHANGED BY EMBASSY.

10/09/2012 - Interview. APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

14/09/2012 - Passport and Documents returned to me via courier.

That depends on how fast NVC receives your case, assigns a number, invoices your bills and how fast you send in the packages. It's currently taking 4 weeks to get a case number.

USCIS- 260 Days

6/8/11~ Mailed I-130 Application, withdrew Canadian PR application
6/16/11~ NOA1 email and text message Case routed to CSC (Priority Date)
7/12/11~ The 'Money Order' Incident/Returned to Tennessee
8/03/11~ TOUCHED!

I just had a feeling something was going to happen today.. and it wasn't going to be good. My Uncle in California passed away this afternoon.

With all this immigration mess taking so long, we really can't afford to buy me a round trip, last minute ticket to Vacaville. Plus I leave next Wed. for Winnipeg.. :( The big crapper is today was my Aunt and Uncle's wedding anniversary. *sigh*

USCIS (192 days, August 24 2011 to March 2 2012. No RFE's).
NVC (30 days, March 12 to April 11. Case expedited due to NVC errors).

Montreal US Consulate, awaiting interview date (14 days, April 12 to April 26).

Called NVC today and they said my case has not been recieved yet, my NOA2 day was 4/27/12

give it about 3 weeks from the 27th. Then start yer phone call barrage.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Sorry for your loss Sheesh.

I called the NVC last night about my lack of an IV bill and was told it's taking 20 business days for anything right now, my ds-261 was accepted on the 20th I should have my IV bill 20 business days after that, they received AOS package, 20 days to review, blah blah blah, she was very nice and apologetic about the backlog. Man I hope things speed up soon.

Great! I will get the list ready soon :)

How about having my wife sign DS-230 but not to put date on it? I will fill out the date myself before I mail it to NVC? :)

I will ask her to send IV documents to me via express mail which usually takes about 5 days. So actually I can wait to have her send me all documents until I get NOA2. But I just want to have myself learn all things and be prepared for the next step rather than waiting till the day when NOA2 is issued to us :)

I strongly suggest you wait. The PCC has a duration on it, and it may be another 4 months from today , even 6 months from today, till she has the appointment at the IV Unit. By then, the PCC would have expired.

So, what's the timetick for you? Have her send all of her civil documents AFTER you have the casefile # from NVC AND the AOS fee bill invoice in yer email inbox.

I called Nvc today and Moli told me that my case was completed on APRIl 18.I said no it was completed on APRIL 10!.She explained to me if you emailed your checklist multiple time,your case re-opens each time they read the next email.If you want to change the CC date,simply forward your April 10th email to NVcElectronic and tell them to change it.(i actually send multiple PCC Checklist email to NVC,i guess 7 time Coz i was mad)

So i email them about it.Let's see if they can correct it.

Still nothing heard from Montreal about expedite request.

No guessing needed, the proof is in these threads. It's currently taking 4+ weeks to get a case number assigned from NOA2. Once you have a case number, as long as the rest is smooth, you can be out of NVC in under a month. I suggest you look at my spreadsheet (linked in the first post and in my signature) to see other people's dates and how long it's been taking to get through NVC.

Sorry for you loss Sheesh :((F)

I sent out my IV package and NVC will get it Thursday. I am hoping they will not take too much time to get back to me or close my case hopefully, since I am traveling to be with my hubby for a month and won't be able to do quick RFE if any is requested. With all the backlog I am hoping it won't take weeks to review our package :unsure:

The backlog is only in certain parts of the NVC. They're still just taking a few days to review packages! You might have a CC by this Friday ;)
