wow.. what a horribly written article that basically says nothing.. The "probe" is only covering USCIS which is more about documentation than anything else - they make very little "gut" decisions..

The first half of the article talks about how there is pressure to say "yes" that has gotten worse during the Obama administration.. Then it gives these two paragraphs:

Nevertheless, USCIS approved 86 percent of the 3.9 million immigration cases it reviewed between October 2008 and October 2009 — a 4 percent drop from the year before, according to the most recent data provided to The Daily.

And immigration attorneys complained that it seems like officers are just looking for reasons to deny a case, and already demand a higher standard of proof than what is required. That standard is now considered a 51 percent likelihood that a fact is true.

So... They approve 86 PERCENT which is 4% drop.. This does not sound like stepped up pressure to say "yes" like the first half of the article says and it does not sound like they are just looking to say "no" like the lawyers are claiming.

I wouldn't even try to educate the hack on the proper terms to use..... that would be called researching the article before publishing that piece of scata, and might result in some accuracy in the otherwise vapid piece.

I read that article but I don't remember it giving an indication as to what types of Visa's.

Work Visas like H1B Visas can be highly political with large lobbying forces. Does this article apply to family based Visas at all ? Something to question.

Good Lord!!!! Maybe they should approve all people with VJ accounts then make the "process better". LOL!!! or jajajaja. Its truly amazing how much effort they put into slowing down the folks who take a #, say "we are here and we are waiting so please dont forget us because many of us are separated from people we love ever so dearly". Lets look at the other side of immigration that is working fast...wet foot, dry foot, and catch and relaese. Hmmmmmmmm...maybe my wife should have jumped a fence or paddled a raft...she may have been here by now. Oh well...you all know the drill. We hurry up and wait.

FYI: Dont remember who, but it was a vj member with a COL esposa who I believe contacted their representative who confirmed the 5 month wait but the wonderful government 5 month is actually >6 months so 5 months and 29 days is still "5" months. Hey...just putting it out there.
