I think the answer to this question lies within your own relationship. There are all types of relationships out there, happily married couples that have threesomes, swingers, those that date and flirt...If both you and your SO seem to be okay with flirting with other people then there is nothing wrong with it. If it would be hurtful to them, and they don't want you doing it then it is obviously different. To say outright that flirting IS cheating is inaccurate, and borderline insecure.

to quote Bill Clinton, it depends on what your definition of "IS" is. or in this case what your definition of flirting is. Flirting can be a prelude to becoming romantically involved or it can be banter among friends or colleagues or anywhere in between. The first case is definately a no no if you are involved/married. The second case would be ok if and only if a) both parties know and are ok with some light hearted banter among equals and b) your SO/Spouse/Fiance(e) is aware of and ok with it (and you better be ok with their doing the same then). The in between cases are best avoided and treated as not ok.

I think it all depends. If your spouse if comfortable with your flirting...and you do it in his/or her presence then its ok I guess. BUT, you have to make sure the recipient of the flirting realizes you're just having fun (women especially can misunderstand this and think a guy is serious) and really if your significant other doesn't like it then you shouldn't do it.

Only Ones Own Morals could answer this question. To me: NO... There is a difference between "Flatter/Flirt" but they are both separate.

Example: A Co-Worker is wearing a short Mini-skirt and you say: YOU LOOK HOT Today. That is a Flirt. Though maybe to you only meant to Flatter.

Best words would be: You look Nice Today and that is a COMPLEMENT and Not a Flatter or Flirt.

Women loved to be told they Look Pretty everyday and never get tired of it. US Men Have to be really Careful what we say so it is never taken the wrong way.

So, No.. It is Not Correct to flirt Married or Engaged. Just me.

Why would this 'person' be dressed that way anyway in an office? Professional dress codes are there for a reason.

My SO and I both very much enjoy contra dancing - a form of American folk dancing - where flirting is part and parcel of the dance but it is generally understood that it is limited to the dance floor and non-committal. For that one dance your "job" is it to make the person you are dancing with - and you change partners after every dance - like he or she is the only person in the room / world you're interested in, you flirt you actually are physically close during some of the figures and then at the end of the dance you thank that partner and that's it.

So I flirt with other men - and sometimes with other women if I'm dancing the man's part or if the dance dictates interaction with another woman - while my SO flirts with other gals. This is why I object strongly to the statement that flirting is automatically cheating - I think it can just be some harmless fun if everyone knows what the "rules" are that are being followed.

I flirt each and every day this this hot young pinay...

Of course I don't work with her, I value my job too much to risk it for nothing.

FWIW, I live with the target of my attention... She's my wife!

That's how you flirt and get away with it...

Amen Brother!

Is flirting harmless? Do you guys flirt with co-workers?

No, it's not harmless. Easy way to tell...if your girl flirts with other guys, do you think that might be problem? If not, you might be a 'swinger' couple.

It would piss me off in a major way if my wife did that to me and there is no way in hell I would do that to her.

But if you're cool with it, whatever.

In my eyes I have the most wonderful sexy woman who makes me feel so great about myself...why do I want to flirt with anyone else? Yes I'll always find other women attractive its normal but the only woman I have any interest in flirting with is my woman. This is my opinion and everyone has their own opinions and perhaps it is harmless. The question is what do YOU think and if you don't like it your man should respect that and not do it. If you trust him and you know its harmless then so be it. But really only you can answer your own question.

Flirting means you have interest in someone other than your fiance/fiancee, wife/husband.

If you will be sending playful "interest" signals to others, other than your "love" interest, why get married?

This entire conversation is distubing to me.

I might be fortunate, but I have NO interest in flirting with other men. My husband is who I want to be coy with, not some guy I know could never measure up. Personally, I would be really upset if I knew he was flirting with someone else, and I know he would be just as hurt if I did it. However, like mentioned earlier not all couples function like this. I didn't dedicate years of my life to him and become his wife so I could share him with other gals

No! Flirting can be damaging to a relationship either when you are together or in a long distance relationship.

I never flirt or even think of anything remotely like that. My fiance is my sweetheart and soulmate and the most amazing, sexy guy I have ever seen or could ever dream of!
