Yes, but living in Mexico is much easier as compared to living in Egypt. At least, she can commute depending on her location. I am just saying that she does not need to live in Egypt. It can be something closer. In addition, she will not need DCF if she is in Tijuana, for example. I know it for a fact.

Did she have to go back home before she got the visa? Or did she get it while she was in Mexico?

I agree age shouldn't be a deciding factor on whether your relationship is genuine or not but unfortunately it would make an officer wonder or be more cautious. I also have to wonder if you weren't willing to share your ages on this post how comfortable are you with this age difference? I don't want to judge but if you know your relationship is real...and you don't want to share your ages...how do you think an officer who's a total stranger going to view it?

people,PLEASE stop saying age doesnt matter.OBVIOUSLY if you are from MENA or have dealt with MENA men, families or culture you KNOW for a fact age matters.here the younger the woman the better and easier it will be for the man,so yes,age matters,it is unusual for a mena man to go for an older woman.its not nice, and it shouldnt be enough or even close to enough for a CO to deny a case, but thats the reality of it and it makes sense.

Did she have to go back home before she got the visa? Or did she get it while she was in Mexico?

She went home to get visa. It is just that it was easier for us to handle wait time until USCIS I129F approval. She spent 3 months in Mexico on tourist visa and then went back.

Haven't you realized that people that keep saying age doesn't matter, are either new members or members from more liberal countries, not only MENA countries but The Caribbean for example, in country such Haiti its highly unusual for a young man to marry an older woman specially if she's past child bearing age. Haven't you wonder why the Consulate told the OP's fiance to marry an Egyptian woman instead.

The difference in our age does not matter in this situation as we both care and love for each other. My problem is when a man is older than a woman they approved their visa but when it comes to a woman why they do not approve. I do not look like my age and he do not look young either he is 27 and more mature than any man i have meet.. My question now is WHAT IS THE NEXT THING TO DO...

I think you will find the question was a genuine and valid one, the age difference does matter to US goverment officials, it is common ground for them to query mass age differences. They do not look at the LOVE connection side of things.

The person asking the age gap was merely trying to help you to reason, shooting them down by not answering something that may able to help you understand.

Its your choice to provide information that could or could not help you!

It is not possible to second guess the interviewing officer, but if you are a young male intending to marry a much older female, then he has to ask himself the true nature of the relationship so in essence he has every right to approve or deny!

Dahlia,

I am so sorry this has happened to you. You do not need to share your age with anyone because it does not make a difference at this point. If you love him and he loves you, go to his country or a third country and get married and live with him there for awhile. Then when you have shared a couple of years together as a married couple, then apply for a visa to America. Heck, you may never want to come back to America because you may be having too much fun. All is not lost. Love conquers all.

The point is that America can not hold a couple in love hostage. There are wonderful and exciting places to live together that could care less how old you are. Have a wonderful and beautiful life together forever. Don't waste your time seeking approval for the age difference because people want to believe the worst. Only God, you and your fiance know the truth.

I wish you great joy and happiness.

:thumbs::star:

Of course you think this because your husband is 29 years YOUNGER than you are. So, you can relate no matter what the age difference. Still doesn't change the fact that to the consulate it DOES matter. Get for real.

So, knowing that the man is 27, is there a consensus from this group on how many years constitutes a “significant” age difference between the man and his fiancée? I mean what is the number of years past 27 that would cause a red flag?

I don't think there is a specific guideline. I can only put myself in their shoes and say: if he is 27 and female from US is over 50 and they seen each other only 3 times over 3 year period, I would need some REAALLY evidence of ongoing relationship. If I saw him being 27 and her being 50, meeting every 2 months or so, living for some time together, evidence of his family being aware and approving relationship, probably I would approve it. This is more common sense for high-fraud countries rather than actual knowledge. On the other hand I would look at it differently if beneficiary was from the 1st world countries, like UK, Japan or France or Germany.

The killer is being past child bearing age bur really anything more than a few years will bring extra scrutiny in this part of the world, when the woman is older. Other issues of concern in this case would be when and for what reason, the woman converted to Islam.
