Found out today that NVC forwarded our packet to the consulate yesterday...woo hoo!

Now if we could only get that stinking passport clearance certificate. I told Mari that I'm planning on going to India and taking pictures of everyone to whom Dipu paid a fee and telling them that if something doesn't happen tourant (Hindi for immediately) than I am going to provide their names, pictures and employers to the Assam Tribune as corrupt city employees.

Bec, LOL.... do it! lol... that's what they get in addition to your curse of diarrhea!

One of my Immigration Atty friends called me today to tell me she's going to Turkey! I mentioned to her about Dipu's issue getting his Passport Clearance Certificate (she's Indian and knows their system well since she deals with their US Embassy & documents that need to be acquired). Anyway she said do not pay anyone else as they're usually corrupt! LOL really? She asked which city he is in and I said New Delhi? I think I am wrong though for some reason. I'm hoping she can give insight of how to obtain that record ASAP! Bec, email me or call me.

ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG GUYS GUYS! We just got our NOA2 today, dated Apr-22!!!!!!

I woke up at like 6 in the morning and saw that I had a missed call from Lionel at 4:50AM. He normally would just let me sleep if there's nothing important. So I kinda had a feeling it was that but I didn't want to be disappointed so I tried to tell myself he just missed me too much and had to call me. Then I got on and he was all like "I have good news and bad news. What do you wanna hear 1st?" then I told him to tell me the bad news 1st to which he replied : "I'm gonna have to start working out" (cuz I keep saying because I have a flat tummy, he needs to have a 6 pack before I'm there lol). I was like "THAT's the bad news? Why?" and he said because of the good news. "What's the good news then?"

"I received the NOA2 today"

I literally had to stuff a towel in my mouth to stop from screaming and waking everyone up (6 in the morning my time lol)

Anyway, what do I do next? lol ... I heard I could download and fill out the forms which P3 are supposed to contain then bring them directly to the consulate before I even receive P3? Can someone please list the stuff in P3?

Thank you so much!!! XD XD XD

1-800-375-5283 is the correct number :) After you choose the language (1 for English), choose 2 for case status, then 6 for customer rep. Since our petition is taking longer than the 5 months processing time, they sent a service request for me (they also told me my case had yet to be assigned to anyone grrrr). So hopefully this will get our case moving along.... Good Luck!!

I've looked this topic up on VJ before. It seems to be consulate specific - some consulates want you to put N/A because they assume when you are married, everything is shared. Other consulates want you to put that you are going to be married and will support your fiance/future spouse.

I couldn't find anything specific for India so I split the difference and put "N/A - this is a K1 application. We will be married and will share all future income and expenses."

You might want to search on the form name and question number and your country to see if you can find consulate-specific examples.

Or have your fiance fill out the form again and put N/A and then take both copies to your interview and ask them what the appropriate procedure is. I read a post where someone did that and it worked out well.

Good luck!

For those of us getting ready for interview, are you and your USC fiance(e) doing new letters of intent to marry, for the foreign beneficiary to take with them to the embassy interview?

If so, what address on the letter? The petition one used the DHS address - should we use that again or the embassy address?

Edit - Never mind, found it, embassy address laughing.gif

Setherwyn, when you post a question like this, please state exactly which form (I-134 or I-864) you are talking about and what number 11 is asking for by quoting it. There are 2 affidavits of support which we will have to fill out; one for packet 3 and one for AOS.

In fact, that's for ALL DECEMBERITES!

I-134, Affidavit of Support for K-1 Fiance Visa:

** The petitioner is to check one of the following and explain below**

#11. "I ___ Intend _____do not intend to make specific contributions. For example, if you intend to furnish room and board, state for how long, and, if money, state the amount in US Dollars and whether it is to be given in a lump sum, weekly or monthy, and for how long."

If you intend on supporting your fiance until they can work, then you check off "I intend" : Now write a short sentence of what that includes. For example, room & board, or allowance. You must state how long your intentions to do so. You must include if you will give allowance, how much in USD. If you give $$ then you state in one lump sum, or the amount weekly or monthly, etc.

If you do not intend to do any of this, then check "I do not intend" . *note* if you do not intend to do so, then I do wonder if the CO at interview will inquire on how the beneficiary will be 'supporting him/herself' while in the 90 day visa validity. You should be prepared for this and show proof in black and white. Which brings up the facts of information regarding customs and the amount of money the beneficiary declared on the Customs form when they enter at Point of Entry (POE).

I am referring you to Bec, our Bean Counter who might be able to expound further on the Affidavits of Support information!

Thank you,

Mari
