So, I know this sounds like a stupid question... but I want to make sure I give enough evidence of the ongoing relationship once they ask me for it. We are constantly talking online with each other. There are about two years of logs! So how much of this should I include? Just bits and pieces?

Also, there are some bits in there that are ... well, sexy. I mean, not outright explicit or anything. I'm betting that any pages that show us being a couple might include a reference or two. Should I edit this out? I don't want to really edit it, because then I feel it's not being honest... I'd probably be hard pressed to find a bunch of chunks of time where we make no sexy references at all!

What are your thoughts? (No, I'm not going to send them cyber conversations! Just not sure what's okay in terms of referencing...) :P I feel so stupid asking this!

Being from Australia it is highly unlikely anyone will take any time to even look at your chat documents.

Whew! That's a relief! I'm just hoping on making the rest of this as easy as possible. I'd feel for the Immigration Officers if they actually read some of the 'not-so-kosher' stuff. :P

I will tell you, when I first sent in my K-1 I included bits and pieces of the chats so as not to send 5 million pages. They wanted more evidence of relationship cause I guess they didn't think the chats were enough. So I then copied and pasted all the chats into Word, edited out stuff that I did not want in there....and you can't tell it's been taken out if you delete the whole line or two. I did the same with emails...sent in a few from every month and the dorks wanted more so I did pretty much all of them...but edited or blacked out small parts I felt were none of their business. So always err on the safe side and send as much as you can..although the shipping will be expensive for sure.

I think this kinda stuff depends on how much evidence you have, we've sent no chat logs at all. But as we have lots of boarding passes and passport stamps, photographs of us together and whatnot we don't expect to eget an RFE. But feel free to say i told you so if we do.

lol, and deprive them of probably one of the few perks of their jobs?

we sent no chat logs at all, just about 3 pics of us together, boarding passes from a 6 week trip, and phone logs showing calls that averaged an hour each nightly for the previous 8 months with a notation that we could dig up more if needed.

Chinook and I did not submit much in the way of chats. We submitted the first page or two of three chats for each month. We were selective about the chats we submitted because we didn't want to entertain the consular officer.

Good to know I'm not the only one that was thinking about this. Man, maybe they'll get to our case sooner if they knew I would include steamy chats. ;)

I take a picture at the end of every Skype conversation since she left. I have two folders... One is "Skype Conversations at Home", and the other is "Skype Conversations at Work". You can imagine how large these folders are. I even left in multiple pictures from a single day, maybe due to losing a connection for a few minutes and losing the chat time for the first conversation. So I will have one that shows we talked for 2 hours, then another that shows the rest of the conversation. So in short, I do not have alot of "chat logs" as we speak to eachother and have no need to type, unless ofcourse I am at work and we wanna say things that we can't out loud. By the time I get there, these folders will be BOOKS, lol. On top of that I have a Verizon Prepaid Card which I use my Debit Card to refill so that when the time comes I can ask Verizon for the logs. I sent her a package 2 weeks ago which will have the dated seal on the front. I will also be there for her interview, so ofcourse I will make copies of my passport, boarding pass, and flight ticket for her. I hope that we will have enough! Oh.. and what I was getting to... I am leaving in everything! Absolutely eveything... If they see the sexy comments, they will know that we are intimate. Yeah, maybe it's a little strange for someone else to read our private things, but I am SURE that 10 years down the road, I will not be thinking about what that person read, just that it helped me get approved.

Lol. Australia doesn't even bother looking at that stuff. I personally did edit out the "sexy stuff" but they didn't even ask for any of it (which actually kinda bugged me, spent the whole night before making sure I didn't send in anything... "suss").

I did actually ask my interviewer if he wanted to see the chat logs and he said no he didn't and laughed that he didn't want to know what we said to each other. I said "don't worry, I editted out anything suss" and he said good because some people actually bring in photos of them having sex thinking it will help make their case more solid... he said it makes it look more suspicious that they think they need to go to those lengths... again this is for Australia. We're one of the "special" countries.. we're low fraud so it's not as hard as some consulates. So even if there WAS sexy stuff, they don't necessarily take that to mean relationship evidence, scammers have sex with their marks sometimes too.

Best of luck :)

I'm going to send in the I-129f in Feb. We have no chat logs at all. Will this be a problem? We do have tons of emails. Also we talk on the phone a lot. Also use Yahoo Messenger and Skype for 3 to 6 hours every day. We have many other forms of communication available so typing chats to each other makes no sense when we can pick up a phone to talk or video call each other. What do you think about this? Thanks.

Mike

Haha! Great thread. I've thought a lot about this. I don't think a little intimacy is bad, in fact if they take the time to read it, it does support your claims. I'd definitely be vetting whatever I send in though for anything too sexy. They can deal with the "brb gotta take a beast of a sh*t" type stuff
