Actually, we are finally getting some typical summer weather. For most of June and half of July, we saw below average temperatures (by 3-5 degrees...that is HUGE here...little sun and rain almost all day long...very atypical).

Where in the midwest could you be from that you aren't used to the humidity? :huh: The humidity is 80% here today and we pray for it to get down to 70%.

I'm here to throw my whine into the fray

92 degrees

with the heat index feels like 104 degrees

59% humidiity

For those using Centigrade scales instead of Farenheit that's

33 degrees C

with the heat index feels like 40 degrees C

Addtionally today is an Ozone Action Day

and the Air Quality index is rated as "unhealthy for sensitive groups"

I am one of those sensitive groups having asthma that can prove fairly severe at times, and I've just gotten home from work, after driving an hour and 1/2 in rush hour traffic with no air conditioning in my car.

I have to tell you that last 20 minutes started to get a bit scary, breathing was tightening up, drenched in sweat, and starting to feel weak and shakey. BUT

I MADE IT! And here I am with some ice cold tea soaking up the air conditioning here at home....and I WILL NOT LEAVE THE REST OF THE NIGHT!

Oh and I must share the irony of this with you, while at work today I had to call someone in Albaquerque, New Mexico and for the heck of it I checked their weather while on the phone....there I was in this heat in the Chicago area, looking at temperatures in New Mexico of 68 Degrees I was like...GIVE US OUR WEATHER BACK !

Ah Daniel, you've got it easy. Here in Newport Beach the ocean breeze makes it feel like it's about 76. People here have to get on a treadmill just to sweat.

I gotta say I was worried about our electric bill since we've been running 2 air conditioners and two fans, then two fans in the bedroom at night... :unsure: Our bill is normally about $25 and our latest was only $45...so...whew! I thought it would be about $75...

Wow those are low bills...do you also have a gas bill or is that the only bill you have for running stuff in your house?? :unsure: Our electric in summer is between $130-140, "winter" it's like $80. But we use only electricity, no gas.

Just an electric bill. The only gas we have is for the stove and our heat is radiator (gas) which wedon't pay for.

Today was 69F at the beach. With a gorgeous breeze and few clouds.

It was beautiful and CAPS got very burnt. :(

Before anyone starts screaming at me, the weekend before last we broke records in the region for heat at 102F and 101F. It was brutal.

This was much better. ;)

Electricity is really just organized lightning.
