My husband got his learner's permit yesterday. We live in the country, so I've driven with him some on the country roads, but after he got his permit yesterday, he drove in town. I think I am a very good wife for not freaking out and not yelling. He did very well and I am proud of him. But, I have a hard time with others driving and think I did very good when he was driving.

I'm terrified to have to teach Re how to drive. I tend to be frightened by all drivers, so this is going to be horrible. I am the sort that holds onto the handles for dear life. Poor Re.

Good job, I say. Good job.

well done for being patient..my husband yelled the very first time I got in the car to drive ..to be honest it really put me off learning to drive and I did everything avoid practising..in the end I just told him how I felt and from then on he did a very good job of keeping his mouth shut :) consequently things got a lot easier..so good job on being a good teacher :)

almost there.....

I want Claudeth to take a driving class but we haven't found the time yet. I know she would love the freedom that a car can give.

My husband also has his permit. Thankfully my aunt agreed to take him on 12 one-hour driving sessions, and he learned a lot! She's calm and patient, I'm jumpy and impatient. Poor hubby, now he's had to deal with me, and I can finally understand how my parents must have felt when i was a novice!

I reckon my cat could pass an american driving test - hope the doctor's tests are harder...

i was semi drunk from the night before - in a snowstorm at rush hour - 8am - and i still passed - easy peasy lemon squeezy !

so no worries there...

I reckon if you are a driver in your home country then just do it - if not then having spouses teach you is like cutting your own hair using a mirror ......

I'd recommed a driving school. Learning to drive as an adult is pretty hard, and you may save money down the road.

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail
