Wow it really sucks! I didnt know vsc approved 2 may petitions, why would that happen?

I mean I'm happy for them too, but vsc approving them 1st, makes april fillers wait longer and thats not fair at all.

I've been in this relationship for more than 6 years, I'm sick of being far away from my fiance :(

i'm considering actually taking a break from the VJ site...aside from the fact it is making me very OCD with timelines etc..i just get depressed when i see april and may filers getting approved and i get angry at uscis for it and then get grumpy at my family. no touches no rfe nothing..and there are a few march filers who are still clueless about where there petition is with no info available to them and the same old responses to wait til 6 months have passed.

its going to be 5 months soon for me as well..being without my sweetie for this long..it feels almost like just a friendship, its getting harder to feel connected if that makes any sense and i know it's not his fault that we are still waiting but we tend to get irritated easier and argue over stupid little things..and that alone breaks my heart :( i jsut really miss snuggling in his warm arms and feeling safe and secure :(

Hey all,

Not sure what's happening, we got the first confirmation that our check was received 5 months ago (it will be 5months on July 26), but we havent received any approval letter. Does it usually take this long? I was told the whole process is 6 months. We sent it to Vermont Service Center. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are actually making it a goal by October 09 to process your approval by 5 months. But, the average time based on talking to numerous legal experts, and VJ for the whole process is about 7 to 8 months. Also, it depends on your service center. VSC is much slower than CSC, and has been two months behind or so.

Whoever told you six months for the whole process was a bit off base. The petition stage alone is taking 5 to 6 months now. You'll probably hear something from VSC within the next month.

Gees, thanks so how long does the whole process take, I understand it varies

u answered your own question.

My fiance-to-be and I will be trying to get the K-1 visa for me. I thought the whole process would take only about 8-9 months. But 13 months? It scares me because I'm already missing him like crazy and it's been only a month since I saw him last time. I so envy the people that have their boyfriend, fiance, husband living close to or with them, but then I realize that nobody has it easy.

You know what? It is so depresing to hear of such lenghty wait times! I don't think that our forefathers meant for the "puruit of happiness" to be so terribly hard to achieve. It is sad... Might be one of the reasons why so many people decide to become illegal in this country, because doing it the right way gets harder and harder. It is terrible really  We should be rewarded for doing it the right way not punished for it.

i totally agree

The times varies for each filier. Some get approved really fast and some have to wait months. Nobody really knows why this happens. But the goal is for your fiance to get his/her visa and INSHALLAH that will happen for you. Just stay encouraged and know that this to shall pass and Joy commeth in the Morning.
