FROM STAFF REPORTS

Walter Cronkite, the iconic journalist who saw America through the Vietnam War, the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Robert Kennedy, and man's landing on the moon has died at 92.

Cronkite died at 92, according to his family, after battling illness for several months.

Known for his catch-phrase at the end of the "CBS Evening News" broadcasts, "And that's the way it is," Cronkite was once called the most-trusted man in America.

It saddens me on so many levels that my media students will not know Cronkite. It was bad enough they didn't know who Murrow was...

I thought he passed away some time ago.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

That is sad news. I guess he wanted to hang on until the anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission. He was great on the NASA coverage.
