How long does it take to fall in love?

I ask because I've seen some timelines where people met (especially online) and a couple months later are sending K-1 petitions. Seems fast.

As the USC, we always have that doubt (no matter how small it is) about whether our foreign fiance is with us for us or for a free pass to the US. I am the USC and I have been with my wife for almost 3 years now. And honestly, up to about a year ago, I still had a little bit of doubt about my wife (then fiance) and her intentions. I think we all do, whether we want to admit it or not. That's why it's kind of shocking to see people meet and file for fiance visas in a couple of months.

At what point did you know your foreign fiance wasn't playing you? I knew when I proposed last August. If her reaction wasn't real, she should have received the Oscar for best actress in a drama last year. I'd really like to hear from those who met online and filed shortly thereafter.

married nov 2006

I feel in love rapidly -- in days after meeting her.

Sometimes I wondered not so much whether she was playing me but whether we could make such separatred families work -- sometimes I still wonder.

When she went home, unmarried, after her K1 saying, yes, I'll marry you but we still have to decide what country to live in, it had been clear for a long time she was the one for me.

I think it depends on the two people and the circumstances. Length of time together before being engaged has never been a reliable indicator of successful marriages.

Lara sent of the 1-129f approx 2 years after we met in person. We haven't missed one single day since April 2006 talking on the phone. Were both 100% sure what were doing is right. She knows realistically what I want in life and so do I.

I could ramble on to explain but I haven't got the time to lol.

The way I look at it is. You could meet someone from your own town or city and marry straight away. The one good thing about the internet, your getting to know the person more this way rather falling in love with someone you met in a pub, at work etc.
