We considered the same thing, but it's not quite as simple as that. The spousal visas may (or sometimes may not) progress faster through the service center, but they spend longer at NVC, while the I-129F petitions are forwarded to the consulate for an interview to be scheduled. Spouses of US Citizens have to go through AOS before they go for their interview. This draws out the process so it does tend to take longer for spouses from filing to visa in hand than it does for a K1 application.

Ahh...didn't know that.

Thanks for the information. Learn something new everyday. =)

We didn't know that either. It was only when curious minds started digging around and asking on the CR1 part of the forum a while back. You're right though, every day is a school day - for all of us :D

Ah gosh, So i found this thread today after trying to figure out a more accurate date to hopefully get approved.

Received 10/10/14

I was so convinced that we could have been approved last week :P

How naive I was!

Ah well I can keep checking by the day hoping I guess :(

That was funny. Apparently he had been planning it for 2 years. He was delivering thousands of letters to Congress on finance reform or something.

What are you scared of? Lots of people get RFEs. It's not a big deal really. Just wait for the letter in the mail and see what they want. Then come back here and we will all help make sure you understand what they are requesting. Once you tell us exactly what they are asking for, we will probably ask you some follow-up questions about what you included in the packet. Then we can see if you might have forgotten something or if uscis lost something in your package.

This is not a denial at all. Don't stress about it. We will all help you.

Received the notice by mail today.. asking for further evidence how you intend to marry within 3 months..evidence of announcement... marriage plans..??? I need to know if i can print whatsapp day to day chat.. or skype history... we never set a marriage date yet as the visa approval time period wasnt confired.. no venue was ever booked.. what else could we attach?

Secondly they asked evidence of meeting in person within last two years.. we have photos together even on engagement but not dated.. but he has immigration arrival stamp on his passport that he arrived in dubai.. hotel booking.. ticket... pictures of us with friends.. our engagement pictures.. Do you think it would be sufficient?

Need help on this please???

Evidence to marry: Write a letter each that you intend to marry within 90d of POE. Sign - wet signatures required! I am assuming you did not include separate statements or at least two original signatures under one statement in the initial petition?

Evidence of having met: What did you send with the original petition? Pictures are fine, but entry stamps and tickets are more solid evidence.

Evidence of having met: I have gathered the screen shots of everyday skype history showing skype calls, family group calls.. screen shots of facebook with our pictures.. as per the notice i need to print pictures too and hand write the place and date which i did already.. we have the itinerary, passport stamp and the tickets to burj khalifa as well as his hotel booking..

Evidence to marry: My fiance is going to draft an affidavit and send me to sign also he is sending an affidavit to his family for them to sign.. we have pictures from his mother visiting our family..and also the whatsapp conversations discussing marriage and wedding shopping.. Do we need more?

Skype calls are not evidence of having met in person within the last 2 years. Flight itineraries, plane tickets, hotel bookings, etc, like you mentioned, are. Things need to show dates. If you have pictures without dates, those are not evidences of having met within the last 2 years. I think what you have will be good, though! Better to overload than under.

bukhari: the big thing really is making sure you each have a signed letter of intent that states that you intend to marry your fiancé within 90 upon their arrival to the US with a K-1 visa. You should make sure that it's the original signed document, and not a scan.

As for the rest of it, if you had already sent some evidence in they may have lost it for some reason. So if you had sent photos already absolutely send them again, along with any other evidence you have of meeting within two years. The big one is the passport stamps. All the rest of the stuff sound good too.

When filling in your timeline, please understand that all I-129F's are sent to the LOCKBOX in Texas, and then ROUTED (not transferred) to your ASSIGNED service center- the one in Texas "TSC" (not the same as the lockbox!), or the one in California "CSC". If your tracking number starts with WAC, you're at the CSC, you were not transferred! There are no transfers at this time. If your number starts with SRC you're at the TSC and that's where you will serve your entire sentence.USCIS isn't fair.

They don't care about you.
