HAB & NAJ India Potomac Service Center No Mumbai, India 2019-11-04 2019-11-04 2021-01-26 2021-02-02 2022-05-23 2022-05-26 2022-07-14 2023-10-18 2023-10-23 We received the email on 23-May-2022 about the US Consulate Interview at Mumbai on 14-July-2022. This Visa petition was for my mother aged 66 years old. She is currently living with my sister in Saudi Arabia. So I had to arrange for her to travel to Mumbai and I also travelled to Mumbai to assist her as she has difficulty walking and is generally comfortable on wheelchair. I assumed that the Medical will go through fine and scheduled a Medical Appointment at Rele Clinic in Mumbai on 11-July-2022. My mother attended the Medical Appointment and took the shots she was missing and also did the Chest X-Ray. When the report/ results of the chest X-Ray came in - the Medical Officer said there were complications and ordered additional tests (Sputum Culture) and informed us on the same day that we will not be able to attend the Interview on 14-July-2022 and once we perform the tests - we need to go back home and wait for the results which will take 10-12 weeks. We were told to give the Sputum Culture at Lilavathi Hospital and they would forward the results to Rele Clinic and the cost would be borne by Rele Clinic (and of course by US Consulate). We attended our time of Finger Printing on 13-July-2022 and also proceeded to the US Consulate for Interview on 14-July-2022. I was allowed inside with my mother as she was on wheelchair and she needed assistance. I showed my US Passport (Note: They said that if she is needing assistance then anyone is allowed and it need not be just a US Passport holder). We were taken to the Counter where the Indian Officer first examined our documents and then said that the Medical Officer has said that the Interview cannot be done so we need to go back and wait till the Medical Reports clear. We requested the Officer that we have come from far and coordinated so much for the journey and if it would be possible that we take the interview so that this is also completed. And then the decision can await the Medical Officer's Report. But the Indian Officer said that the system will not allow him to send us inside so we need to go back. We requested him to check our documents at least so that they are all fine. He listed the documents needed and saw them and said they are ok. We returned back with a heavy heart. But this is our story. So we wait till end of October for the results from the Sputum Culture (where they are ruling out Tuberculosis). 2023-11-22

Filed online. Extra wait with covid. had to wait for documents to be reviewed by nvc 3x, blurry uploads and some extra docs for aos, leading to one case complete before the other. was approved for expedite to USEM. Surprise at interview, no one allowed inside with applicant, unless needing wheelchair, not even the petitioner. They had good things to say about the experience, everyone inside was polite and helpful. Interview went as expected, Lola passed, we front loaded evidence for the late registration. Lolo had 221g, needs letter of explanation from nbi, due to old cases, went and got that cared for in the afternoon. Waiting for that to get sent before sending in the passports. Status updates lead us to think the nbi got the letter out the same day. Sent passports in and status updated to issued shortly after they were processed at embassy. issued on 3/1, received on 3/7. final preparations and a big going away party, then off to Manila on 3/22. Registration with CFO on 3/23, and pick up some canned corned beef to take with us..., Then ready for a long trip- Son-in-law met them in manila to assist with cfo, getting around the city, and to escort on the trip to new home. 3/24, leave MNL for HND, then a 15 hour layover, next leg to SFO, POE was simple, we all were able to go through the citizen line together, however we did have to go to secondary to get the visas processed and stamped. collect bags, recheck them. and start the 10 hour wait for the last leg to ORD. stepped outside walking between terminals at SFO, was a cool day, like 54f outside, did not like the cold..... last leg to chicago and a 2 hour drive home, and finally home with anak and apos....... 2023-04-05
