While not as large as your age gap, my wife and I have a 13 year age gap. She is 31, I am 44, but at the time of her approval she was 29 and I was 42.

It does not matter you will get approve 99.9% visas from Philippines are getting approved so don't worry if they refused get marry and apply for CR1 since getting visa from your country is very easy.

Recent reports are they are not even asking some fiancé question or requesting documents. Just show up to the interview and you are approved

Gotta love the PHilippines...........

Hi guys, so I have a question here. We filed our application of K1 visa this past August 16 and got our NOA2 already. We are just getting ready for the interview and that we have two red flags. We have a significant age gap of 29 years and that we have just been talking for 7 months now. We have seen each other twice. Both of us has never been married and no criminal records either. So my main concern is about the age difference, would they question that and the length of time that we have been dating? We just want to start our life together-together. Thank you all

P.S. Would it make our chances of getting approved higher if he comes to the interview with me?

It is definitely a red flag and so is the length of courtship. Not that i am trying to discourage you guys but stick to the truth and have him come over for the K1 interview.you shall be together.

Incorrect

I would say they are almost over qualified.

Most couple in Philippines only meet one time and then file the petition and are quickly approved. The age gap is normal in Philippines.......

Agreed.

My fiancée is 30 years younger, we have been dating for 7 months as well, and only met once, she had a very quick and easy interview last week at Manila Embassy and got approved without any issues. I did provide lots of materials and we went to see my mom and relatives who live in Thailand now. Good luck!!!

Always a good idea to read the whole thread.

So these are my opinions based on my own experiences.

As long as your relationship is sincere and you have demonstrated it to the CO, you will be fine. I have a 20 year difference with my wife and the CO wasn't concerned at all.

Did you fiancé meet your parents and family? Do you have any group/family pictures together that includes your fiancé? The more involved with your family, the more positive the situation.

As for attending the interview, I attended it with my then fiancé and the CO even commented to both of us that it was really good that I was there with her to support her through the process. So, I would recommend, if possible, that your fiancé attend the interview with you at USEM.

good afternoon,

i know that discrimination is illegal--de jure; however, it seems that if you are a female petitioner who is older than the male beneficiary, the age gap will be noted, even if it is not queried de facto.

i read the notes (was reading the case notes upside-down from the other side of the glass window) of the immigration officer last Tuesday during our embassy interview and it was noted for our case but we weren't asked about it AND WE WERE APPROVED.

we were asked how we met, how long we knew each other, and how many times we've met--oh and both people who interviewed us asked (they were VERY nice, with some incredulity) if i was the petitioner. nothing about it was mean-spirited or snide, but i guess they were surprised that it wasn't the other way around with a male petitioner and female beneficiary.

IMHO: both of you *need* to attend the interview so they can see that your relationship is real, have all your documents in order and give as much info as possible in a confident manner.

p.s.- the embassy was Barbados, the country of origin Commonwealth of Dominica (*not* high fraud).

My husband and I have a 15 year age gap and had no issues. I didn't request to be at the interview I just showed up. Co was happy that I attended, I do think the petitioner presence makes a difference.

Age gap is a non issue for the PI.

It is a fraud indicator for many OTHER countries and the CO will look much deeper and may refuse to issue a visa under the not bona fide relationship

blanket statement....but PI no problems.
