My wife and I have filed our I-485, I-765 and I-131 all together and have completed our Biometric Appointment on August 4th, 2014.

Now my wife has an opportunity to work for her previous company but in the United States, how can we speed up the EAD approval?

Can we get an urgent approval?

Thank You,

Joel

You can apply for an expedite.

I expedited my I-765 due job offers and haven't heard anything yet back from USCIS.

EAD are quite often approved within 2 months of applications. It would take you longer to get an expedite request approved ;)

Did you submit a letter of employment offer from the company?

Why would it delay it? So if you apply for expedite immediately after biometrics (say after 1 month since NOA) then it would delay it further?

I never said anything would be delayed... read slower. I hinted that the card would be on its way before the expedite was approved ;)

Oops. Okay so the expedite just wouldn't happen then? Is it not possible to receive an EAD in 6 weeks or less?

Oh the expedite "might" get approved... eventually.

My wife's EAD was approved about 8 weeks after USCIS received the application, she had the card about a week later.

Expedites happen. If you follow the instructions linked above, you'll find you have to take a two-pronged approach; you should have an approve/deny within a week or so. (We had no problems expediting once it got too close for comfort to my husband's start-date at work.)

I put a request by calling USCIS and was happened talking to Tier 2. He did not ask at the moment but I was told to wait like a week before they would ask me to send request of evidence why I need to expedite my I-765. Expedite in many cases won't granted but I have seen a few of them had done and successful.

Expedited means the approval come less than what an average processing times supposed to be. If approval came overlapping the average of processing times we can't call that expedited, can we? ;) . So KayDeeCee's post about that was correct.

Here the thread dedicated to June Filers of AOS and you can see that many people had been approved of their I-765 by expedite.

if EAD expedites are approved, the process goes much, much quicker than the average 60-90 days it takes for an EAD to get approved without an expedite (it does not take longer than the EAD would normally take to arrive, like some are suggesting). it took about 2 weeks for me to receive the card in the mail from the day i submitted my expedite request. that included downtime of waiting for USCIS to ask me for proof (which they never did), for me to write to my congressman, and for the card to be delivered to our home.

my post on expediting my EAD: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/498728-june-2014-aos-filers/?p=7122513

btw, although my husband and i were/are not facing financial hardship ourselves, we positioned the expedite (due to financial hardship) on the basis that the company would have had to expend unnecessary resources training me separately from the rest of the new hires. obviously, part of getting the expedite approved is positioning your case well, and providing the right evidence to support your argument.

just to give you a quick comparison...most of the people who filed at the same time as me, are getting their EADs approved in 70-80 days on average, without expedites (and there are some who are still waiting). mine was approved in 42 days from NOA1, cutting down my time by almost half.

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

Has the UK company employed someone in the USA before? It is quite a hassle for the UK company to employ someone living and working in the USA.

It will probably involve the UK company getting charge additional fees, and they probably will have to provide the healthcare benefits, etc... Which might be a huge task for a company if they haven't done that before in the USA.
