Stuck in Ap cancel and marry advice please

My fiance had his interview Nov 30

Our status still reads ready for interview. Do you think it's better to get married and start over? I just dont want to be stuck for years. We want to start our lives and this is so difficult. We werent asked for anything no 221g just stuck ?

Its just frustrating we werent even told if we were approved ? I dont like sitting here in the unknown and traveling to Pakistan now they wont even give me a visa. My fiance doesn't want to ask for his passport doesn't want to cause any more delay

You can get married and file for a CR1 if you would like, but you will need to start the process all over again and there is no guarantee that a new petition would not lead to AP again. There is also no way to predict how much longer your AP could last.

Have you or your fiance reached out to your embassy where he interviewed to try to find out why its still in AP? They should have an email address for your embassy to contact. It doesn't hurt to try to ask them what's going on.

Yes i emailed them and they just say Ap. But our status stills reads ready for interview and they didnt even tell us if we are approved

Just so you know, it's pretty common for Muslim males to be in a long AP as they're usually conducting a background check.

My uncle was stuck in AP for about 1-1.5 years before he was finally approved for his visa. Hopefully, your fiance's is much shorter and he can join you in the US soon!

There's AP for every visa. The US won't let anyone into the country without a proper background check and there's no way to determine how long the check will take.

If there were any documents missing then they would've given him a 221G form (temporary denial) and told him to bring the documents.

It seems as though he was approved contingent on the background check. Some CO's just don't like to say the words "You're approved!".

It is however a good sign that they kept his passport so just keep your hopes up!

I'm sorry you are going through this, my fiance and I are as well. Our interview was in Russia, March 15, 2016. I realized that I didn't provide some documents at the first window and tried to give them to the CO; she was as cold as ice and would not accept them. We never received a 221 (g) and were told that the case had to go additional processing and to watch the website. They did keep his passport, but the CEAC never updates. I've wrote the embassy and called DOS. They simply tell me that the case is neither denied or approved, but that we are in AP.
From what I understand, a Congressman or Senator, rarely gets any different answers than the petitioner. It's frustrating.
