I would strongly advise you go to see him and not the other way around. We were told not to visit, unless I went to his country; there is a possibility they would view it as a means to by pass immigration laws and he could be barred from entering the US for a very long time. The question they asked me: Do you have the kind of money it would take to fix that problem? I do not; so we cancelled our engagement party. Remember if you marry him there, you still have to go through AP. If you marry and fly home, you don't have to necessarily prove domicile; but can you really demonstrate the validity of your relationship if you are still living apart? It's a catch 22. Believe me, I feel your pain.
