NVC Filers - November 2014

Hello everyone. Our case has 3 N/As already since yesterday ( Nov 16, 2014 ) as what I've read it means we are case complete already.

But 2 persons are telling me that it is not sure thing for case complete. Is it true?

we haven't call NVC yet as my husbands job wont allow it till after 10 days( he will be off by then ) . As much as I want to call from UAE, its very expensive and I only have prepaid account. last time I called, I spent 2 etisalat cards but the line was cut as I was out of credit even before I could reach NVC reps.

After case complete, you will get an email in about a week. There is no point in calling all the time to check if its a case complete. Also, the interview will get scheduled, I don't think you have to do anything to make that happen.

Almost certainly your case is complete so you can celebrate and start getting ready for the interview. Congratulations!!

Oh my god..... Just checked the CEAC site and we now show 3 N/As with the AOS Fee changed to N/A.

Calling NVC now. On hold. Hoping they answer before 12am EST. I NEED to know!

AOS Checklist scanned 9/23. Been at the NVC since May 8, NOA1 November of last year....

Although the AOS checklist likely cost us another Christmas without her visa, I am extremely happy to be past the NVC. Now we wait for the email and interview date....

I called NVC today again & Rep told me that since they now review packages together, they go by the last scan date, which for me is now Oct 7th ?. I sent AOS & IV together & scan date for those is Sept 18th. But then we sent Police Certificate (which took longer than expected) & that was scan on Oct 7th. So we have to wait longer now.? I dont understand how NVC is working because Ive seen scan dates of late Oct get CC so lets see what happens....Good luck!

Sorry fir late reply. It is not asking me to invite nvc nor add nvc in my contact list. What i do is just dial +16033340700. But hangout works differently in different countries. Like my friend from nz cannot use hangout because it is not free to call nvc from nz using hangout.

Try magicjack app. They say its free also but i do not have any idea because i have not used it.

My guess is, calling US numbers from UAE using hangouts is not free and not even possible. I’m not surprised though, cause Magicjack and Viber are even blocked for calls. Viber we can use for messages but you are only lucky to be able to make call for 1 minute then later it says its blocked. Skype was only unblocked here few years back.

i got case complete over a month ago and few weeks ago got my interview date for Dec 19th.

Am originally from nigeria but i live in vietnam!my problem is two months ago my passport

expired and didn't get my new passport on time to renew my visa,by the time i got my new passport

my visa and old passport has expired which makes me an illegal immigrant here.However,it wasn't stated

as part of the document needed from me for my interview.

My question is,will my illegal status here affect me from getting my spousal visa??

To make calling US numbers from free from UAE - just use a US Proxy and login to gmail & then make the call to any number in US or canada it would be absolutely free.

If you wanna also Access skype - just get a US VPN.

What's the definition of "Scan Date" for AOS/IV packages?

Is it the date in this line in the letter that NVC send you which states...

"The National Visa Center (NVC) received your documents on XX-XXX-14"

(I was under the old system where I sent them them separately)

Or is it some random date soon after that when they touch/process the package in some way?

I suspect this is an old chestnut, but I've read Saylin's guide, and searched the forums and can't find the exact answer.

I'm going to ring them today, but I want to have my facts straight before I do.

So I have a question about the medical:

My husband needs to have the short list of vaccinations and we were wondering could we just get the vaccinations *when* he goes in for his medical or should he get an appt with a local dr. here and just get them now and then all we would have to do is the medical?

Is it possible that the dr. that is doing the medical can do both? Thanks!
