Inky got a reaction from A-R in K1 FIANCE VISA DENIED - now what appeal or k3 visa?? responder en español tambien
Could maybe they have sent a RFE which never reached your fiance so you didn't know you had to submit papers? then you missed the deadline so they denied it?
I would wait and find out what the denial says before consulting any attorneys because they really just fill out the blanks on papers and mail your things.. they can mess up your files just as you did but they cost you lots of money when they mess up!

Inky reacted to ricky and elaine in Warrants?
In applying for a US Visa we should be aware of the limitations. Clearly they have problems with criminal issues. Not showing up for a scheduled court appearance seems to me to be a negation of your legal responsibilty. OK maybe I am old fashioned but ....one must deal with the ramifications of their actions. Its not like she said she didn't do anything.
Why try to make a hard route harder? Or impossible?
I have heard over and over about VJers and the things that happened many moons ago.. All comes to haunt us. It's sad really. I wish you guys the best and that that the time and also (being a minor) will play in your favour.

Inky reacted to Mitch.J11 in USPS is not my friend...
Why would you pay so much for express shipping with USPS? I only paid $10 at UPS and it got there the next day!

Inky got a reaction from risingjsun in What to prepare for the petition??????
Please print out and use the step by step guide for forms and items needed. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide
Edit - Also please read the instructions - you DO NOT send it to the local office. The address to send everything to is clearly listed in the I-129F instructions.

Moved from ROC to effects of major family changes on immigration benefits.
Divorce her and file removal of conditions by yourself with the waiver.

Inky got a reaction from VanessaTony in Tax Return Transcripts
And this one specifically also says it you get it in the mail after filing. http://www.fileforcitizenship.com/resources/N-659%20NATZ%20Interview%20Checklist.pdf
You will get what is called " YELLOW LETTER "
Requesting you to bring documents you did not include. Its like an RFE but you don't mail it you collect it and hand it over at the interview.
Happened to quite a few of the February filers.

Your medical may have been lost / incomplete. Thats usually the most popular issue with AOS.

Inky reacted to TBoneTX in refusal notice for my fiance
*** Unanswered duplicate thread removed. ***
Had you read the reviews of the embassy, you'd have known that your presence was crucial.
Read the reviews, paying attention to the WORST stories, and prepare yourselves (both of you) for a possible Stokes interview.
Edited to add: Read this thread -- it applies to K-1 equally:

Inky got a reaction from NikLR in Getting a divorce while on conditional Green card, what are my rights?
If he really does give you the ring back couldn't you sell it and buy your tickets home? Might be worth it that way for you. Then save the rest to help you when you are home.

Inky reacted to TBoneTX in second thoughts...
I'd beat it over to his country this week, as a priority, and stay for as long as it takes to salvage this relationship or to determine that the fires are permanently out. He's missing you poignantly, I believe.

Inky got a reaction from Pitaya in Question about the transfer notice i got in the mail? Alien number..
It doesn't because they keep saying it to you until you are outside of your processing times. Its basically to get rid of you because you are still in the normal processing times. When you call them and you are outside of your processing time then they can put in a service request for you. Which also means more waiting to hear back from them.
Start your research now for the next steps for the interview etc and AOS after arriving and marrying in the USA.

Inky reacted to Darnell in How to get ssn before card arrives
typically, go back 'next business day' and get the number.
they won't give you the card, but they will give you the number.
IMO, you got a nice brain-dead SSA employee.

Inky reacted to Hypnos in Confused when to file for I-485
Yes; if the I-485 is not filed by the date the I-94 expires then the alien(s) begin to accrue illegal presence, are in the US without authorisation, and are deportable (so could theoretically be detained by ICE).
There is a widespread but incorrect belief that K-1s are somehow "protected" simply by virtue of their marriage to a US citizen. This is not the case, and getting married within the 90 days only gives them standing to be able to file for AoS (and even marriage beyond the 90 days gives them this standing, they just need to file an I-130 in addition, provided they marry their original petitioner).

kievdema - on what basis do you hold a green card?
-
Inky reacted to belinda63 in I am a green card holder, my minor kids on B2 visa
There is a wait for visas for the children of LPRs and they cannot adjust status from within the US if they are currently not "in status". In other words even when the I-130 is approved, they cannot file for AOS because they are here on an expired visa. Best thing is for them to return home now and wait for the visa.
