    I have never seen tugs used when a ship is underway, I assumed the tugs were used at slow speeds? She seemed to be accelerating out of harbour. Yesterday CNN said 2,000 and a quick glance showed more than that, the capacity I believe is 10,000. And looked fairly full.

    I do remember it being an issue before the court cases, the names of which escape me but essentially say the PoE had the chance and admitted . I suppose that if someone put their hands up and said yes I lied etc, but I have not come across that and lets face it this is not exactly uncommon. And of course there is nothing magic about 90 days or even 60 days that seems now the magic time. Plus of course it is a pretty pointless exercise as a waiver is available and they are here.

    He just said that it would take a mile to stop. also speculated on the smoke which could be due to a couple of reasons. They have data recorders like Aircraft. Last inspected in September by Coastguard Once the power went that was game over, plus of course this is a 50 year old bridge and whilst this is not a mega Containership, they are too big to use Baltimore, it is a lot bigger than the ships of the time.     Some places require these ships to use cleanish fuel within their jurisdiction, I do not know if this applies to the US but say it was going into or out of Rotterdam it would switch to the cleaner fuel and then Bunker Fuel when it had cleared.
