    Uk and US qualified tax advisors are few and far between, especially I would imagine in Idaho. I always found it super simple to transfer money from my Nat West account, either using someone like XE, amusingly I received an email from them today or directly into my Wells Fargo account. It used to be that if you had an American Express card you could easily open a US one, do not know if that is still the case.

    Putting the question to one side if you should really go there, I assume most people would not, this is not a DIY case, you will need a competent US Immigration Lawyer and they will no doubt need to liaise with a local lawyer.

    Your Bank can transfer, loads of specialist like XE etc, see where you get the best rate/lowest fee. You need a US account to transfer it to. When to do it well a personal choice. If you do not have a UK account where are you going to get your Pension paid into. UK Pension will be taxed at source so most unlikely you will also owe US taxes.

    It can take a lot longer to get a B than U4U not that this is appropriate in this case. Agree dates which are convenient to you, ask her to send her Airline reservation when available and the rest is up to her.

    Well never helps applying outside your own Country but very much depends on the totality of the situation.

    The US does not seem to generally do Employment Contracts, well I have never had one, but HR must have produced something.
