Everything posted by Edward and Jaycel

  1. We just went today to convert Jaycel's driver license to a "Real ID" driver license now that she has her Green Card
  2. Ours was about a page and a half of narrative and then we had about 50 pages of pictures and text / messenger screenshots (we were together a little over 2 years when we filed with me living in the Philippines with her for a year of that time so we had lots of evidence)
  3. Ah ok! When you said her flight to come home I thought you meant to come here to the US. Sorry for the misunderstanding. We have not used the email address before but I know a couple of Filipinas that had to and they actually do respond. I never asked them how quickly but it can't hurt to email now and follow up with a phone call to the number on Monday
  4. I would email that inquiry address immediately and prepare yourself mentally that she is not going to make that 9/26 flight. The embassy still has to process the visa and issue it and then she has to do the CFO appointment.
  5. I am a firm believer in "Front Loading" the I-129F petition with as much evidence as you have (especially in your case with a short timeline). The bar for approval at USCIS is relatively low but where this Front Loading helps is that the Consular Officer conducting the interview will have access to the I-129F petition. This is where the bar for approval is higher and having all the evidence you can gather already attached to the I-129F is extremely beneficial. I would also recommend visiting her while the I-129F is being processed (if you're able to) and when she's asked at the interview when was the last time she saw you in person, she can say "Oh just a couple of months ago and I have evidence of that visit with me here".
  6. I can only tell you what Jaycel did to address her issue.... The first window is just for collecting documents, etc and we figured that the best way to approach it was to tell the Consular Officer who would be actually looking at her DS-160
  7. The 2nd window with the actual consular officer
  8. Not necessarily... it all depends when an adjudicator gets around to looking at it. The filing category was the only thing I can think of off the top of my head. From the status updates you describe, I'm going to assume your receipt numbers start with MSC and not IOE correct? It's possible the denial is just your expedite request but there's really no way of knowing for sure until you get the notice in the mail.
  9. It could be denied if you filed it under the wrong category... Do you remember if you filed under category C 09?
  10. These errors are not material to the petition... IMHO you let the package be delivered and if an RFE happens, you deal with it then. Otherwise, for the letters of intent to marry, you and your fiancé(e) should draft and sign updated ones for the interview anyway so that will be an easy fix and your fiancé(e) can correct the employment history error at the interview once they are sworn in. My bet is the Consular Officer will not care.
  11. Good luck and please keep us posted!
  12. FWIW... I know it's not a direct analog but while our AOS was pending, we did a monthly upload of joint bank, credit card and utility bill statements as well as any pertinent evidence we generated that prior month (Trip together to FL, Jaycel getting her DL which showed the same address as mine, the certified copy of our officially recorded Report of Marriage to the Philippine Consulate, updated joint health insurance cards after the first of the year, etc.). During our interview, our officer commented on all of the evidence we uploaded and how it helped her get a look into our marriage and that it enabled her to approve us that day.
  13. Be aware that USCIS will no longer accept checks and money orders for payment of fees after October 28th, 2025
  14. Here's a sample of one we put together for someone who Jaycel and I helped file their I-129F... Not to brag but they got a text with their receipt # less than 24 hours after it was received by USCIS (All personally Identifiable information changed to fictitional info)
  15. Yes... She mentioned it as soon as she got sworn in and the CO thanked her for correcting the mistake and he approved her 3 minutes later
  16. She forgot to include the student organization she was a member of in college on the question "Have you belonged to, contributed to, or worked for any professional, social or charitable organization?"
  17. This is my opinion only... I do not think it will be an issue as long as she informs the Consular Officer about the mistake / misunderstanding the question as soon as she's sworn in for the interview. We had a minor issue on Jaycel's DS-160 and she mentioned it to the officer after he swore her in and he corrected it and thanked her for telling him right away.
  18. Thank you for the detailed report! I agree that the electronic method for the FBI History Check is the best. I got my results back within an hour or two also.
  19. If you haven't paid or scheduled the interview yet then there is no harm in doing a new DS-160... I thought you had already scheduled so that's why I recommended just correcting it at the interview but since that DS-160 receipt number is not tied to anything yet, doing a new one should be fine
  20. Agree with @TBoneTX - We had a small error (about the same severity as yours) on Jaycel's DS-160 that we filled out for her Fiancée Visa and she let the Consular Officer know about it right after she was sworn in. No issue and the CO thanked her for bringing it up right away.
  21. No one will care... They don't note who shows up other than the applicant
