  1. Great news!! You guys are gonna do great! Jaycel and I did ours like 3 weeks ago and it was not bad at all
  2. And according to the Officer that conducted mine and Jaycel's interview, interviews for marriage based interviews have been mandatory for all applicants since February. Like someone posted above, this used to be the norm and waivers were either non-existent or at best a super rarity.
  3. I've noticed a pattern with I-864 RFEs - They put all the boilerplate language first and then at the end they bullet point what was deficient (I have looked at a lot of these recently here and on other forums). The screen grab below is the key takeaway from the RFE and why they sent it. They were not happy with you submitting the Wage and Income Transcript as they only accept the Tax Return Transcript. Submitting the correct transcript should satisfy them, however as @Crazy Cat mentioned above, you only get one chance at resolving an RFE and if you have a well-qualified joint sponsor that is willing to do it, it makes sense to include a completed I-864 from them just as an insurance policy.
  4. SO clicking on that link.... The first paragraph has this: New rules mandate in-person interviews for all applicants, regardless of documentation, and these interviews are now longer and more detailed, probing personal aspects of the relationship. Couples face increased documentation requirements, needing extensive proof like joint bank statements and travel histories. So, "extensive proof like joint bank statements and travel histories" - This has always been the preferred proof of marital evidence. And during the time of the interview waivers, the way you got a waiver was to submit strong evidence like this. This is just USCIS reiterating what is needed for proof of marital bona fides. I don't understand why this article is making this out to be such a huge deal. Ugh... this is clickbait at its best
  5. No, you have to send an email to oca.crd-us@dfa.gov.ph and request the transmittal details and attach a scanned copy of your approved ROM. Below is how we worded the email to them: Good day Americas Desk! We filed and received back our Report of Marriage to the Philippine Consulate in San Francisco, California in December 2024. We would like to request if the transmittal details of our ROM are available yet? We have attached a copy of our approved ROM to this email for your review. Please let us know if you need any further information to honor this request. Respectfully, Edward [Last Name] Jaycel [Last Name] (formerly Jaycel [Maiden Name]) 123 Any Street Anywhere, CO 12345 +1(999) 999-5499
  6. This was after our USCIS interview for Adjustment of Status from inside the US so I don't think it will correlate to your process but we had the interview July 23rd, Approval Showed in the portal on July 24th, Status changed to "Card Produced" on July 29th and we received it on Aug. 1st in our mailbox
  7. Agree with this... Jaycel's EAD status never showed a tracking number until the case status updated to "Card Was Delivered To Me By the Post Office" and that update didn't come until about 2-3 weeks after we received it. Her Green Card was delivered on Friday, Aug 1st and the status still says, "Card Was Produced" and the tracking number is "UNAVAILABLE" In both instances we had the notification from Informed Delivery the day it changed to Card Produced though and were able to track it
  8. You have to wait until you have the passport back with the visa because you need the visa number to register. Use the link that @Dan_Nelvin posted above.
  9. For what purpose? Jaycel never needed her CENOMAR (Certificate of No Marriage) from the Philippines for any reason here in the US
  10. This is 100% standard... Our case there in Manila went through the same step. You don't need to do anything as this is basically boilerplate language that they put for that status to cover themselves if a QA review of the case finds something that they need is missing. Your case should change to "Issued" within a few days (that's been the norm lately). Keep us advised of your status!
  11. Thank you! I really do believe this is the most difficult step and we're so happy to have it behind us
  12. I will second this... (or third this? ) This has got us to where we are now (Jaycel just getting her Conditional Green Card on a relatively quick timeline) and it was specifically mentioned by our Consular Officer at the embassy and our interviewing officer at USCIS that they appreciated our honesty about my brush with the law that I had 30 years ago. I can't speak to other's experiences but the people we encountered along the way in positions to make a decision on our cases were very human, were genuinely interested in our story and were very understanding of being fallible and making mistakes (and wanting to hear the circumstances around those mistakes so they could understand and adjudicate properly). Please stay here with the community and let us know how your journey progresses!
  13. Thank you and no worries... I ain't goin nowhere I will be giving back to this awesome community as much as I can! Thank you!
  14. First I want to thank this community! The advice, the pool of knowledge available here and just the feeling of belonging that most members project is such a source of comfort during this crazy process. I don't know if Jaycel and I would have maintained our sanity if we didn't have our fellow travelers to lean on. So thank you all so very much! 8 Months and 2 weeks from application received to card in hand. (And exactly 4 years from the day we started talking ) No RFEs and EAD in 51 days. Pretty happy with that timeline! Now we get a break from USCIS for the next 21 months Our full timeline in case it's helpful to anyone else: I-129F Receipt Date: 09/18/2023 I-129F RFE: 05/20/2024 I-129F RFE Response Received: 06/01/2024 I-129F Approved: 06/04/2024 I-129F Sent to DOS: 06/11/2024 DOS Case # Assigned: 07/01/2024 K1-FTP: 07/16/2024 Embassy Interview: 08/13/2024 (Approved) Visa in Hand: 08/20/2024 Entered the US: 08/30/2024 Married: 10/25/2024 AOS Receipt Date: 11/18/2024 Biometrics: 12/26/2024 EAD Approved: 01/08/2025 Interview Scheduled: 06/16/2025 Interview Attended: 07/23/2025 I-485 Approved: 06/16/2025 Green Card Received: 08/01/2025
  15. You will not get a notice that your file transferred
  16. It's all up to the local Field Office and their backlog. Is your office Hartford?
  17. Thank you! I guess I forgot to update this thread but our interview was 07/23/2025 and we got verbal approval at the end of the interview. The case status changed to "Case Approved" 24 hours later on the portal. We got notification 5 days later, on the 29th that the card was produced and according to USPS informed delivery, the card will be arriving today! I hope you guys get your interview scheduled notification soon!!
